I have just finished A Small Madness by Dianne Touchell. Was unputdownable- amazing story about teen pregnancy, family relationships and mental issues. I am so scared that my review won't do it justice as it is a small book - 230 pgs - so can't say too much. But fabulous. Already earmarked as one of my top reads for this year!!
Review will come in due course!

It's really nothing like Gone Girl in my opinion:)

The Girl on the Train is next up on my reading list so I won't take a peek at your review until I've read it. Glad you liked it though!
Sigh. Just finished rereading the Princess books by Jean Sasson - so depressing, I probably shouldn't have read them all at once.
I haven't read for nearly two weeks and I'm not sure why. I just seem to have lost interest. Hope this doesn't last much longer :( Has this happened to anyone here?
Oh Sharon!! That's terrible:( That's actually very sad....did you see the freebie by an author we both enjoy in the free kindle thread? That might start you going again:) It's only free for a little while...

Authors get writers block. You must have readers block. I'm sure the urge will come back soon. Maybe you should spend some time in a really nice book shop looking at all those lovely shiny books:) That would do it for me.

Yes I think I do have readers block, Phrynne :(( I have lots of shiny books here, but it's not helping :)
I'm reading To the Lighthouse as part of the Full Deck Challenge I'm doing through the Book Vipers group. I'm really struggling to get into it. I just finished reading The Luminaries, which was a breeze to read compared to To the Lighthouse. Someone tell me it gets more interesting, please.
I finished Borderlands by Skye Melki-Wegner last night - 5★s

Sharon, perhaps it's a side effect of your holiday. I'm sure it'll pass soon and until then enjoy doing other activities. :)
Today I finished this little non fiction title Does Cooking Matter?: Penguin Specials, and found it quite interesting. Here is my review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Now onto An Untamed State. The first couple of pages were into it.. very quick!
Sharon wrote: "I haven't read for nearly two weeks and I'm not sure why. I just seem to have lost interest. Hope this doesn't last much longer :( Has this happened to anyone here?"Gosh, I hope you haven't developed an allergy...... that would be worse that being allergic to chocolate.
Sharon wrote: "I haven't read for nearly two weeks and I'm not sure why. I just seem to have lost interest. Hope this doesn't last much longer :( Has this happened to anyone here?"I sometimes get like that after reading a couple of great books. Others pale by comparison. At present I am finding it hard to settle to one and have discarded several. Not sure yet I will even stick with the last one I started. Watching a movie instead.
Vicki wrote: "Sharon, perhaps it's a side effect of your holiday. I'm sure it'll pass soon and until then enjoy doing other activities. :)"Yes it might be Vicki :) Plenty of housework to keep me busy ;)

Lol yes it would be Marianne :)

Glad to hear it's not just me Dale. I did try another book, but it didn't help. Oh well I'm sure I'll get back into it soon :)
Sharon wrote: "I haven't read for nearly two weeks and I'm not sure why. I just seem to have lost interest. Hope this doesn't last much longer :( Has this happened to anyone here?"You probably just need a break for a while Sharon. Maybe try reading something totally different to what you've been reading? A classic or some nonfiction or a new author recommended to you or maybe try an audio book?

Yes you're probably right Carolyn. Maybe I'll try some different tomorrow :)
Yes that's when I go for the audio books and do a Jigsaw puzzle or something like that which isn't distracting.
I just finished The Bookman’s Tale by Charlie Lovett. It was just okay.

Sharon wrote: "I haven't read for nearly two weeks and I'm not sure why. I just seem to have lost interest. Hope this doesn't last much longer :( Has this happened to anyone here?"If I feel a little blah with my reading I revert to my childhood books - my mind seems to yearn for innocence and simplicity and these books fill the spot. Out comes The famous five series, Heidi, the Katy books, the Secret Garden, Laura Ingells Wilder - all my tried and true books. Eventually my mind settles and I am ready to move back to meatier books.
I am having a great reading weekend - 2 x 5★sA Small Madness by Dianne Touchell and The Room by Jonas Karlsson - haven't done reviews for either of them yet.
I have now started Tell the Truth by Katherine Howell and The Country Practice by Meredith Appleyard - two quite diverse genre :)

I thought The Room was fantastic Sally :) Glad to see you liked it too.
after three fairly intense reads (Skin, Aquarium and Second Life) I am going for something a bit lighter The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden
That's a lovely idea Sally. I think sometimes you do get a bit burnt out and need to read something you really enjoy just for pleasure. I get out a Terry Pratchett or one of Lois McMaster Bujold 's Miles Vorskogian series as they always make me laugh but re-reading some of the children's classics would be a lot of fun too!
Speaking of getting in touch with my inner child - I have also picked up my last summer challenge book Escape from Wolfhaven Castle by Kate Forsyth - will be my E book. Will finish it today as just under 200 pages - am loving it, Kate Forsyth writes great fantasy adventures!
I'm currently reading the amazing An Untamed State, about a third of the way through and enjoying it (hard to use that word properly dealing with the content). Just also reviewed a book from quite some time ago, almost forgot about it actually. Wanted to tell you about it as I thought it was an excellent on from an Aussie author. Here is my review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I've had a break from heavier books by reading Making Money in the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett 4★. Still a great series after 36 books and always reliable for a light, humorous read!review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished Earthseed by Pamela Sargent. Worth reading if you like SF.

Finished Escape from Wolfhaven Castle by Kate Forsyth was 5 stars - making my 3rd in a row!Now reading a romance book my daughter gave me Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis - actually I have the series, plus another series by the same author.
I'm pleased to report that I started reading again today. YAY!! Thanks to everyone for suggesting to try reading some else. I did exactly that this afternoon and it must've been what I needed as I started reading A Fortunate Life by Albert B. Facey and I'm LOVING IT!! This is a beautiful book :)

And this morning I started Descent by Tim Johnston, after seeing some good reviews on it by members here.
