B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) I'm reading The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters. Loving it. The build-up was drawn-out, it set the place/time/characters beautifully.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I'm only a third way into Skin Skin by Ilka Tampke by Aussie author Ilka Tampke but very much enjoying it, and there's a giveaway if anyone's interested. see https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sh...

Jülie ☼♄  (jlie) | 6581 comments Bought this The Poppet and the Lune (The Complete Series) by Madeline Claire Franklin The Poppet and the Lune by Madeline Claire Franklin at the weekend with whispersync also, and am listening to it between reads. Its a wonderful children's tale, or YA...about a Witch who made a patchwork girl from the remains of the town's lost children, but died before she could give her a name. It has a few dark bits but don't they all? I think it will have a good finish :) this one is all 4 books in one....beautiful cover.

So far so good....its quite a contrast to Hades though which I didn't get a chance to read much of at the weekend, should finish it today though :)

I'm listening to this one right now in my car. It does have a slow build. I'm dismayed at the most recent turn of events.

I suppose I could try *hinting* to one of our particularly nice Mods to do it for me *hint, hint* :P

It was nominated by RitaSkeeter as one of their top 5 of 2014, and as a result of that I've included it in my personal challenge for this year. So it has at least one big fan so far - maybe a couple more on the way?

Alik The Visitors was a 5 star read for me. A great fictional read which had me reaching for the computer to read more about Egyptian tombs. I also loved the (tenuous) link to Downton Abby.

I have just this second turned the last page of The Secret Life of Luke Livingstone by Charity Norman

I am absolutely blown away by this novel! It has shot to the top of my all time favourites list; I also know I'll be mulling over it before I even attempt a review! But it will follow closer to publication.

Suzie | 478 comments I just finished reading A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman, which popped up on someone's Summer Reading Challenge I think. I can't remember who recommended it, but I absolutely loved it! Such a beautiful story, so well told, I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed it all. One of the very few books I have rated 5 stars. So thank you :)

I read The Visitors thanks to Bette's recommendation and loved it, too :-) It's actually hard to pinpoint why I loved it, but it certainly kept my interest the whole way through.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Keen to get into it now ... I actually got sidetracked and started Never Saw it Coming by Linwood Barclay. It was just the size of The Visitors that intimidated me a little (and the small font) ... but I will definitely be getting to it next :-)

Was a 5 star from me!!! He has a new book coming out this year (June) My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologises by Fredrik Backman My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologises

When I say new - it has been published in his country in 2013 - a translated version is going to be released.

Sally906 | 87 comments Had a flurry of finishes last night (hence my absense - but I'm sure reading is a pretty good excuse-lol)

Any how my next batch of books are:

A Small Madness by Dianne Touchell (released this month)
The Room by Jonas Karlsson (also released this month - and one of my last two books for the summer challenge)
Of Stardust by February Grace (discussion book for yahoo book group)

That should keep me quiet
