It was. I must also get the library to find me the next one.

Started Palo Alto by James Franco... First story ended a bit abruptly and was a little distasteful in my eyes, but we'll see how the rest go.
Also revisiting my childhood by reading a chapter of The Faraway Tree series with my kids at bedtime, haven't been going for long so we're only a few chapters in to The Enchanted Wood.

The Folk of the Faraway Tree and The Enchanted Wood are two books I remember from my childhood too Jodie; my grandkids are reading them now:) Wonderful books!

I remember reading them to my children too and they loved them. Still have them waiting for my grandchildren.

Thanks, Sally and Marianne :-) I know a lot of people love this book, so I was afraid my review wouldn't go down too well!

I love seeing when a person, who generally shares my tastes in books, loves something I hate or vice versa. I find it fascinating Sally.
I finished South of Darkness by John Marsden. It was okay.

That is good to hear :-) I'm the same, I totally respect someone who dislikes a book I love, especially if we get to discuss why. It's just another of the great things about books, they affect every individual in individual ways.
I just read The Case of the Killer Divorce by Barbara Venkataraman Thoroughly enjoyed it! 5★s

It's a wonderful bit of escapism Brenda, and nothing like a handsome lead character or two to make it more enjoyable!

I loved this book, as those of you who got my recommendation already know. Definitely 5★s my review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Not to put anyone off, because there wasn't any horror as such, but the characterisation and the storytelling made me think of Stephen King, whose storytelling talents I love, so that's high recommendation from me.
Anyway, lots of nostalgia for those of us born in the forties or fifties, and the last page brought a lump to the throat and a tear to the eye.

Currently reading Second Life by S.J. Watson and am going to start Useful by Debra Oswald shortly...
Couldn't resist it . I am blatantly ignoring all my challenge books in order to read Obsession in Death.
