Loved that one - might even say it was better than The Kite Runner. I must find the time to read his latest one of these days.

Sally Howes | 223 comments Today I finished The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson. It is the second book in the Mistborn trilogy and a very strong fulcrum for the series, I think. I thoroughly enjoyed it - 4★s.

They're my heroes, too! I did notice the fourth Mistborn book, but for some reason, I am a bit hesitant about 'add-on' books like that. There is a 'prequel' to the Wheel of Time that I haven't read yet, too. Hopefully I'll get to these little extras one day!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I have just 8 pages of Cop Town to go (the epilogue) and now I'm hesitating because once I've read that, it's OVER : (
I hope Karin will give us more of Maggie and Kate (and Gail and Jimmy and Rick maybe too). Gonna go chop meat and onions for tomorrow's slow cooker project: a Dutch dish called Hachee = Beef & Onion Stew, served with red cabbage and mashed potato, a real winter dish!

Lots of pages but not a lot of words on each page so it actually speeds along. I have read about a hundred pages and have reached for the tissues twice! Cassandra Clare may not be the world's best author but she knows how to tug at your emotions :(

I'm still only about 3 chapters in so far (I've started the 4th chapter) in Part One, so still just becoming familiar with all the characters, but I think I will like it once it gets going. Sounds like you're going to read with a vengeance now you've started, Elaine (especially since you've got the sequel to spur you on!), so I'd better try to keep up ;-) Just kidding - go as quickly as you like!

I finished A Thousand Splendid Suns and really enjoyed it. Khaled Hosseini is a great author. Haven't written a review yet, but I will...
