This book just keeps reappearing and I know Bette, whose reviews I value has recommended it highly. I may have to take a closer look at this one and eagerly await your views on it Brenda.

Adhityani (dhitri) Finished The Goldfinch a couple of days ago but only got around to writing the review (and I typically don't start a new book before writing a review for the previous one!). FIVE STARS - I enjoyed it, it's a masterpiece and instant classic for me. Here is my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

No, Brenda, online is probably the best you can do. I just happen to have picked some up cheaply, brand new at Salvos and Smith Family, so now I always keep my eyes open for them at charity shops. I guess these were gifts someone didn't want.....

It was a five star book for me too, beautifully written and a lovely story. However I think you have to like fantasy as a genre to really appreciate it.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) It has been the second fantasy book for me and I was 'in like flynn'. Loved it.

Thanks, Sally. The crucifix comment in my review could be a tad harsh but I can say Romance novels do irritate me. It is a very good book.

I'm not too sure myself at the moment. But it has Jamie Fraser in it so I've kept reading. I have a bit of a literary crush on Jamie :P

My favourtite Lord John book, mainly yes because it has Jamie in it :)
But I have become a bit of a Lord John fan after reading this & Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade the other full length Lord John story.
