I have this near the top of the pile. Haven't started reading it yet.
I'm just about to start

do you have a special place for buying them Marianne? i.e. cheaper than the online sites;)
No, Brenda, online is probably the best you can do. I just happen to have picked some up cheaply, brand new at Salvos and Smith Family, so now I always keep my eyes open for them at charity shops. I guess these were gifts someone didn't want.....

It was a five star book for me too, beautifully written and a lovely story. However I think you have to like fantasy as a genre to really appreciate it.

Thanks, Sally. The crucifix comment in my review could be a tad harsh but I can say Romance novels do irritate me. It is a very good book.

I was never really able to get into the Lord John Grey series. I didn't like him!

I'm not too sure myself at the moment. But it has Jamie Fraser in it so I've kept reading. I have a bit of a literary crush on Jamie :P

My favourtite Lord John book, mainly yes because it has Jamie in it :)
But I have become a bit of a Lord John fan after reading this & Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade the other full length Lord John story.

I agree Marianne, The Idea of Perfection was my first, and favourite Kate Grenville book.

Next up is Absolution Creek by Nicole Alexander
