What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book)

Oh no! What happened, Dale? Is he home now?

Glad all OK now. Will keep you both in my prayers - for a quick recovery for him and for extra energy for you!!

All the very best to your husband Dale. A nasty shock, but glad the outcome is positive. Take care of yourself too:)

So true Dale. That's how fragile life is.Thinking of you both and very glad the diagnosis was downgraded, although I'm sure you're probably still recovering from the scare and worry. Hope he's better soon as even a bad flu can be quite worrisome. Take care and we're here for you if you feel like chatting.

Take care Dale and look after yourself too. These flus and pneumonias can be nasty, both for patient and carer. Hope your hubby feels better soon.

Thinking of you both and I hope your husband is feeling better very soon, Dale. Take care :)

Oh Dale, I hope he is better soon. Sending positive thoughts to you and your family xoxo

So glad it wasn't as bad as they thought. But still a terrifying experience I am sure. Praying for a quick recovery.

Thinking of you Dale and wishing a speedy recovery for hubby <3

It depends. Yesterday it was 3AM; today it was just after 4AM.
Good morning to the early girls. :)

That would've been scary and stressful time for you. Dale. I bet you're both relieved to have a diagnosis and be back home. I hope your husband gets well soon and there are no more rush trips to the hospital.

Glad to hear hubby is home: take care and tell him not to rush it!
I bet you were worried, Dale. And while it may seem a bit callous, I know what sort of waits are involved at hospitals working there and having spent many hours lately with my mum) I ALWAYS have a book in my handbag. Of course, you might have been too worried to read....

Force of habit from when I was working gets me up so early plus a good measure of insomnia! As my work got more complicated, I just started sleeping less. I'm usually in bed by about 10.30pm. I'm like you, I do like the quiet in the early hours plus I can talk to my friends in US because of the time diff.
Yes, we are The Early Girls, I like that:)

Morning, Vicki! I slept in today!! Where's Bette, I wonder. I'm usually in bed by 9, latest unless there's something I want to see on TV that finishes 9.30. Or we go out.....
Sorry it's pain that gets you up, Vicki. Have you explored all avenues?

I know you'll take good care of him and I hope that he is a placid invalid as men usually make the worst patients:)

Sorry it's pain that gets you up, Vicki. Have you explored all avenues?"
I don't know about all, but certainly many. It's a condition in which the vertebrae are fusing together. Unfortunately, there is no cure and it's all about pain management. But I'm tough, and most of the time, I can manage it. :)

Sorry..."
Vicki, I've suffered chronic pain for last 10 years. My Pain Management Specialist has me on a twice yearly of Ketamine. Commonly, it's a horse
anaesthetic and now used by kids illegally as Special K. But it has wondrous uses for very severe and chronic pain in Humans.
You need to see a Pain Management Specialist; in Vic, there's one at the Alfred and Geelong hospital. But it is used sparingly and only in extreme cases. Maybe for you?

Thanks, Bette. The last time I had Ketamine, I stopped breathing. Mind you, the dosage was enough to treat two horses... and I'd just come out of surgery. :)
I'll certainly research it some more, though, and discuss it with my doctor. Thanks!

Yes, pain specialists are usually extremely helpful! They have quite an arsenal of stuff at their fingertips to assist pain sufferers.
And Dale, I certainly hope your hubby is on the mend now. You can count on my prayers as well :)

Have to say he is a better patient than some I have heard of Bette. Sorry to hear you and Vicki experience such back pain. I have been there but a 6 hour op by a brilliant surgeon solved the problem at least as long as I am sensible. Can't play tennis which is sad or vacuum( what a shame LOL) but still able to walk. Thoughts and prayers with both of you. Backs are hard to deal with. Constant pain becomes very wearing.

I started Kitty Peck and the Music Hall Murders by Kate Griffin. Like you it was just what I felt in the mood for!
