I'm not far in but it's a good start so fingers crossed :)
Finished reading The Escape Artist by Diane Chamberlain I really enjoyed this one.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I thought Death Comes to Pemberley was very ordinary. P.D. James usually writes much better books than that.

Would an Austen fan like Death at Pemberley? I am reading Lord of the Flies by Golding. Heavy stuff!! Anyone read it?
Angela wrote: "Would an Austen fan like Death at Pemberley? I am reading Lord of the Flies by Golding. Heavy stuff!! Anyone read it?"Lord of the Flies
No Angela, but l do have it on my TBR list. How is it going?
I'm reading The Last Whisper in the Dark by Tom Piccirilli, it's the second book featuring Terrier Rand, it's excellent.
Well, I've finished The Post-Birthday World by Lionel Shriver 3.75★
Talk Talk by T.C. Boyle 4★ Excellent, will read more of this guy.
Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks 1★ Definitely not my genre or author.

I enjoyed that one Geoff!
I enjoyed that one Geoff!
I finished and reviewed Goodbye Nothing - I usually like a good horror book but this didn't work for me at at all. 2 starsReview : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Geoff wrote: "Finished 61 Hours by Lee Child. a great page-turner that ends with a bang! Could Reacher have survived that inferno? "To be continued". Damn! Now I'll have to look for ..."
Except that if Reacher did not survive there wouldn't be a sequel :)
Good books aren't they! I still wish they had not used Tom Cruise to play Reacher in the movie though.

Geoff wrote: "Can't imagine Tom Cruise as Reacher. I think I'll give the movie a miss. "Neither, so I have been ignoring the movie as well. I think Steven Segal would have made an excellent Reacher.
I've finished The Confessions of Edward Day by Valerie Martin. I've commented on the novel here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...And I've started NW by the irrepressible Zadie Smith who also wrote The Autograph Man which I loved.
I seem to have lost my 'reviewing' brain these last few books. Maybe I'm starting a new book too soon after a completed one??? Does this happen to anyone else?
Jackmeister wrote: "I'm reading The Last Whisper in the Dark by Tom Piccirilli, it's the second book featuring Terrier Rand, it's excellent."good choice
I've finished NW by the brilliant Zadie SmithMy review is at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Haven't started it yet, but got S. in the post today - had to show off how pretty it is.

Not sure how good it will be, especially with me being a huge fan of House of Leaves which is an extremely similar concept, but I guess we'll see.
809 Jacob Street by Marty Young, The Marching Dead by Lee Battersby and Self-Editing for Fiction Writers by Renni Brown and Dave King.

Looking at the last pic Liam I'm not too sure if I could read something like this. But Wow the book looks gorgeous.

Arrrrrrgh! I was looking at it and lusting after it in the bookshop last weekend....it was a bit out of my price range so I was hinting to hubby that it would be a good Christmas pressy. It looks great Liam, I am so jealous ;-)

Amazon has the hardcover on special today for $21 but of course you still have to pay postage on that.

Neither did I. And I love both Jane Austen and murder mysteries. This was a snorefest.
Loving No Mercy: True Stories of Disaster, Survival and Brutality by Aussie authors Learmonth and Tabakoff, although I'm not enjoying it exactly. It's a really horrifying look at how some humans behave when disaster strikes. Murder, rape, cannibalism ... No Mercy: True Stories of Disaster, Survival and Brutality
Currently reading an uncorrected proof of The Recipe Box Enjoying it. Another book about secrets but a lighter read than the last one Bent Road.I must be in secret mode as the one prior to that was about secrets too Reunion: A Novel
Dale wrote: "Currently reading an uncorrected proof of The Recipe Box Enjoying it. I kept mentioning some of the books I'd read recently as they related to topics that came up in a conversation with someone, and I only realised as I gave a brief rundown of the different books that they were all about people dying of cancer - it seemed a bit morbid when ennumerated like that!
Raising Steam by Terry Pratchett. Very very good - I am on a roll with good books at the moment! Trouble is I don't get much else done with my head in a book all the time!

Great review Michael. You got me with needing a box of tissues so it's another one for the TBR :)
This was already on my list, Michael, but I will make it more of a priority after reading your review!
My current read is Attachments by Rainbow Rowell which is okay so far. Definitely not as good as Eleanor & Park
I've read Foreign Affairs by Alison Lurie: winner of the 1985 Pulitzer Prize. 4★My review is at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm currently reading Friends, Family and Other Strangers From Downunder by Liza Perrat. It's a collection of 14 short stories set in Australia. I grabbed a copy when it was free and I'm glad I did. :Next up is Rescuing Tara, an Australian true short from Robin Bowles. Only 99¢ on Kindle:
