Hello, I am Jay Curry and I joined Goodreads over a year ago. I am enjoying it as I learn more and more about its power. I am a executive coach in Houston. My love for history really started after college when I moved from my home state of Oklahoma to Virginia for a year and was amazed to find history alive in Virginia. I have loved it ever since and read a lot of history, biography, and biographical fiction. Though I've been here several months I thought I should introduce myself.

Hello :) My name is Maja and I'm from Serbia. I love history books- hoping for recommendations from you guys :) Thanks :)
Welcome, Adrian. I am glad you have found the joys of reading, especially history. You are in good company here. Based on your introduction, you may want to visit the following topics.British History
History of Second World War
There are many other folders where you can discuss topics that interest you.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the comment box). It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them.
When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

Hello to all! I'm Windy Flower, a girl of 14 year old from Russia, living near Moscow. One of my hobbies is history. I'm interested in the history of Arts and the world's history. I love reading about it all, it is useful, I think, because you can learn more about people, their outlooks, mistackes and wins, what was in this world, where you are living now. This way you can learn more about all around us :)
We are so pleased to have you join us from Russia, Windy Flower. It is always nice to see a young person with a love of history. There is so much here to see that I would suggest that you browse our home page for topics that are of interest to you.History Book Club Home Page

Hi, I am Therese from America. I don't want to reveal too much about my age, so I'll just say that I'm not in college yet. I've loved reading since birth, but it wasn't until recently that I started reading nonfiction. I find history, in particular, more interesting than other subjects, though I try to read up on all of them. I'm hoping, that by joining the history group on Goodreads, that I will find great books about history. I truly believe that being in this group will expand my knowledge on all periods of history. Thank you for accepting me into your group!
Hi everyone! My name is Rob, and I look forward to working with you all. I hail from the United States and am originally from New Jersey but I currently live in Flagstaff Arizona where I am a graduate student at Northern Arizona University and also a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Educational Specialties. Many of my students are also secondary education majors studying history. I have several years of teaching experience both stateside and abroad. I have taught in the countries of China, Russia, El Salvador, and Ghana.
As far as my reading habits are, I am a fan of many different types of books with history being one of my favorites. I recently finished:
Mornings on Horseback by
David McCullough In particular I enjoy books on Disability History when I can find them, I also really enjoy reading about US Presidents and books on the revolutionary war, among others.
Currently I am not reading a history book, but I am reading
Crime and Punishment by
Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Next I plan on reading
The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt by
Edmund MorrisI look forward to interacting with you all,
Rob
Hello, everyone! I'm Blake Hillard, a senior in high school living in Ohio.As college quickly approaches, I am preparing to study History, specifically European History in the 18th and 19th Centuries, and International Studies. So my interests drive me towards literature of the same kind. My favorite authors include: Patrick O'Brian, Nathaniel Philbrick, Khaleid Hosseini, Herman Melville.
I can't wait to discuss with all of you!
