How many of our Club Books have you read?

Was wondering what to use as a challenge... maybe 21 would be a good number. :)

I don't like too many challenges, but a handful of the books that are already on my radar are also on your shelf.

There's one or two I know I own, so may have read them, but I have boxes of books i just bought and collected that I've never touched yet (waiting for a rainy day or retirement). I've deffered on those im not sure of.
A number of these are on my tbr list and to be read this year.

Yeah, Hank!
Yeah, Hank!

Parents and teachers. :/"
Did you turn out to be productive?

Now, I'm at 120/233, which is 51%.
At the same time, I now have 113 books to catch up for completion whereas in 2013 it was 101 books. I'm not targeting 100% but this is disturbing. I think, I lost tracture because I didn't read much last year.

I will probably read one of the DNF but not the others and there are books I don't plan to read.

Next year you'll have to name the challenge "Catch Me If You Can."
Careful, Kim. Once you set yourself up as the Best In The World, the hopefuls don't stop tracking you down until they supplant you! Historically, this has not been a pleasant supplanting.
Don't take this as a threat, though, I don't think I'll read enough club books over the rest of my life to topple any of the big fish in this group. ;-)

I'm working on it. Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell may be my downfall.

Haha here's hoping.

Shh don't give away my secrets.
I only have 81 books on the bookshelf in the entirety of my book selections, and have read about 35 of them, I think. Or will have read 35 after I finish one of the ones I'm reading now!

I have read 30 out of the 231 books - 2 more on my to read list.

Welcome to the club!

I was trying but then a wall of mediocre and below books stopped my progress like a wall of zombie fungus or like a carpet of slave ants or like a creepy sentient forest or like a cloud of moon fragments or like.....

Now:
48/237 = 20.25% total
13/120 = 10.83% of the sci-fi shelf
35/117 = 29.91% of the fantasy shelf

2015 – 29 (cumulative) out of 199 (14.57%)
2016 – 59 (cumulative) out of 223 (26.46%)
2017 (YTD) – 76 (cumulative) out of 237 (32.07%)
At my current rate, averaging about 6 more books per year than the 24 yearly additions, I figure I should be all caught up by the year 2044. :)
If I read nothing but group books I could probably catch up within 3-4 years, but I get side-tracked by the series books. I recently read His Majesty’s Dragon off the shelf, and am now on the 9th book. Discworld is a more extreme example -- the 3 books on our shelf led to me reading all 40+ books.
I don’t have any serious aspirations to read the entire shelf, but it’s a great resource for reading selections, with such a wide variety of books in my two favorite genres. It's particularly helpful for me since I didn't get into SF&F until adulthood; I have a lot to catch up on.

3 years and 3 months later I'm up to 76/213. Some I've read with the club, some I'd previously read and the club added them.
2013 percentage: 33%
2016 percentage: 35%"
Currently (1-4-17) I'm at 83/225, or just under 37%.
If I manage the 12 for this year's challenge, I should improve on that.
I'm not a completionist, and there's no chance I'll read sequels that don't interest me or authors whose work I don't like who have multiple books on the shelf (China Mieville and Jim Butcher, for example), so I'll never hit 100%, but there is a lot of room between that number and where I am. I'd be cool hitting 50% eventually.
