Hi Aaron! I'm doing real good. I'm reading a new book by W.E.B. Griffin called The Assassination Option. He is a real good military author.
Sonya

Still above ground...taking nourishment. I'm told that's a win. Any landing you can walk away form, you know. How about you?
:)
Is that why you guys in Canada are sending some of you snow and cold air down here???? As I said in another thread, if Canada's going to send stuff down I'd prefer bacon and blended whiskey.
As long as I have my coffee, I'm okay, but this has been a bad month in Toronto for extreme cold and snowfall ...but not like Boston.
Yes Aaron, I always have a coffee in front of me, and the pot is always on. I probably make 3 (12 cup) pots of coffee a day, with friends dropping in or work. But I am not a drinker. Occasionally a port or red wine.
Hi All!I'm Rob Kaufman, Author from Connecticut and very excited about our heat wave of 36 degrees today. I have a small marketing company but dream of writing novels full time. So far I've written two novels: One Last Lieand In the Shadow of Stoneand am working on my third. I have a Giveaway pending approval from Goodreads. As soon as I get the approval, I'll pass it on to the group! Nice to meet you.
I am usually up late, but can drink a mug of coffee and then go to sleep. My husband gets mad at me for getting up in the middle of the night, and going on the computer, after 3:00A.M. (to see if I have won a book through Goodreads Giveaway.) My excuse is I have to let the dogs out...and then I check my emails, and have a coffee.
Actually I'm more of a tea man. I'm also making the New Coca-Cola Life live hard. Most of the "stuff" that gets me out has been canceled the past 2 weeks...wait that's not correct. ALL of them have been canceled. The leader just canceled tonight's "Small Group" to.As I said, just say snow and Nashville closes.

Thanks, Aaron!
Nashville is a bit odd. Where I am there's no ice left, roads are clear. Go southeast of town and the secondary roads are still ice covered.
Brenda wrote: "Welcome, Susan and Chloe Jane!Susan, a lot of us here do read series in order. Just seems logical, right? :-)
Chloe Jane, check out S. J. Bolton's Lacey Flint series, Harry Bingham's Fiona Gri..."
I read series in order, whenever I can.

I love Mel so I will be there :))"
I am interested in her novels.
Hello, I am the author of "Everyone Has Their Little Secrets"a coming of age, young adult book about a 13 yr old girl. For every action, for every choice, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Greetings, y'all! Yes, I'm from North Carolina, the Triangle area, and, precisely, just outside of Raleigh. I've always been an avid reader since I could read. Mostly thrillers and suspense, but I can wander off the reservation on occasion. I'm also a writer of suspense novels. I have one romantic suspense that came out in 2012 (Exiled Heart) via a regional publisher and another that came out via indie publishing in October 2014 (Hunter Hunted) and one due out in April of this year. I've got a husband named Steve and two basenji dogs at home (our "fur children") who keep us guessing. Yep, never a dull moment with basenjis. I also enjoy being in nature and have visited several national parks out West. All in all, this is my first group to be active in on Goodreads, and I hope to be more active in the future.
welcome all.Jennifer, I have some friends in the area. I grew up on the other side of the mountains. Welcome again.
My name is Lara Bay. I am a economics, pre-law student with the goal to make it to law school. In the mean time I am trying to get familiar with the stock market so I can make a little profit on my way to law school. I figured a little money might be quiet helpful along the way ;o)I am originally from Berlin Germany and moved to the United States about four years ago. Currently I live in Fort Worth TX with Brad who is my Marine Corps. boyfriend. I am loving Texas so far however having 10 month of 100+F summer and 2 months of icy winter isn't the ideal place for me to settle so I am setting my settle down place for NYC. City plus beach is the perfect combo.
Hi! I'm a Newbie Author of mostly urban fantasy and veteran reader of fantasy, sci-fi, ya, and anything outside of reality. i love to escape the real world. I'm an avid dreamer and weird-o. Married to another weird-o and have a five yr old who's taking on a lot of my quirks. I'm a Georgia girl who's into anime, manga, sushi and a lover of comics and fantasy rpgs. I am determined to finish four books this year and finish the moderate list of books i've bought and downloaded before buying another... that last one may not happen though.
Welcome, lost of new members

Howdy y'all, I'm Roger just an ol' southern boy who loves to read. Some of my favorite authors are James Lee Burke, Michael Connelly, C.J. Box, Robert Crais, Lee Childs, John Sandford. I love a good mystery and suspense. Looking forward to meeting y'all

Welcome to the group.
I was a huge Robert B. Parker fan, Spenser being one of my all-time favorite characters. Drifting away somewhere in the late 90's, I did not know that Ace Atkins continued the series after Parker's death, and that, according to the reviews, he's doing a pretty good job. That's so cool.
Are there other instances where contracted authors continue a series like that?
And of course, HOWDY Roger and others.
Where in the south are you from, Roger?
Texas here.
lol Mike. Great minds ask similar questions. Plus Roger, please tell me you drive a truck (I'm guessing a Ford) because I don't even know you but I'll just die if you say you drive a Hyundai

Ladies drive trucks too. Mine is a Toyota Tacoma.
If I were a football fan them would be fightin' words... Happily I'm not.I live in Nashville Roger, grew up on a small farm over on the west side of the Smokies.
Again welcome...oh and I'm drinking iced tea as we speak.
Thanks Mike Tennessee is beautiful country. I'm a huge college football fan but I'm not one of those arses about it LoL, I do enjoy it though. I like a woman in a truck, Patricia, ehh, not to crazy about Greg Iles, I've read a couple of his
I tend to like women in most any kinds of vehicles, or room, or swimming pool, or park....or pretty much anywhere.
Hello Antoinette, Roger, Rob, Lara (welcome to the states), Michael and Jennifer. Roger, our favorite authors line-up pretty close. Have you ever read John Connolly (Charlie Parker) series books? Or, Ty Patterson or Jack Thompson to mention a couple of Indie authors that we have on goodreads.com?Welcome all.

I have read each of your favorites and love all of them. I can recommend Vince Flynn's books. Edge of your seat thrillers that deal with contemporary themes. Vince died a couple of years ago but his books are definitely relevant to today's international news. Too bad he isn't around to discuss what is happening today in the Middle East.
