Hello to all the new folks! Scott, I've seen you around, glad you're here. Nanci, you seem like you'll
....fit here nicely. Try the Pick-it -for -me March read and put your list up. We'll pick you a great book to read next. Aileen I lived in Florida for a few years in the '80s and I remember it got down to 40* once and everyone freaked out. Nobody had coats!
Hi, Aileen. One thing you need to know about me is that I have eclectic taste in YouTube videos as Aaron can tell you. ;) I have five playlists, including two just for holidays. This is from playlist #3 and is the #3 video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC-T0...

Blame it on the cat. ;-)
Hello Everyone:Pleased to meet you. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Cameron Wiggins and I live in McPherson, Kansas about one hour North of Wichita and the BTK killer's stomping grounds. I graduated from Wichita State and I have a B.S. in Geology but when I graduated the market had bottomed out (oil). So, I went to work for American Maplan. American Maplan produced equipment to make PVC pipe, vinyl windows and vinyl siding. Our big customers were like Owens Corning, Alcoa, North American Pipe, Certain-teed, etc. I sold spare parts world-wide (mainly in the US) all the way from o-rings and seals to pumps and motors to heating, cooling and vacuum systems, to gearbox parts and re-builds. I did this for 19 years until my health went out in 2006. I sold in Canada, South America, Latin America, Egypt, Italy, China, New Zealand, and Australia, but mainly all over the US. So, I dealt with people from all over. This was an unique and enjoyable experience that few people can experience. This is one of the things that I like about this buddy group on Goodreads. My first buddy was from Northern Ireland. (I was sick a lot of the time and could not fully involve in this buddy project. Disappointing.) My second buddy is from Ontario. The experience that this offers to one is immeasurable. It can be very fun. I could have spent all weekend with my buddies and their families, One thing that my work experience taught me that it was not worth it to "not like" someone. Like everyone for who they are. To not like someone is wasted energy that robs you of the chance to sincerely appreciate that person. Get off your soapbox Cameron.
My wife and I own a cafe (diner) that we have had since 1997 She manages this. I do very limited paperwork like mileage logs, expenses, and inventories. I also did and maintain the rank amateur and badly-in-need- of-updating website. If you are interested, it is Neighbors Cafe, http://www.neighborscafe.com. It is a lot of work for Shelly, but it is a good thing.
I have probably had over 50 surgeries and procedures now including 3 kidney transplants, gallbladder removal, 3-4 cancer surgeries, 7-9 hernia surgeries, cataract surgeries, 3 knee surgeries, various stints put in for the kidney machine, a calves' vein, two pulmonary embolisms, a stroke and so on. And you know what? Am I blessed or what? I mean seriously. I was supposed to die before I was 3, before I was 10, in 2012 (2012 was very close and I am still coming back) and I am still alive and kicking and a very lucky and happy person. I am very lucky to have my wife, Shelly. The world could have been so much worse for me. I could have been an addict, live in the middle east, live in complete poverty or any number of things. Sometimes I think that the Lord put me here to show others how fortunate they really are, but I do not want to get too spiritual on you.
I love to read. My favorite authors include (not necessarily in order) John Sanford, Tess Gerritsen, Jack Thompson, SJ Bolton, Ty Patterson, Lee Child and Tana French. Incidentally, James Lee Burke of Dave Robichaux fame was an English professor for a short time while I was attending WSU. And, I absolutely love Goodreads and this buddy group.
Sorry for the long introduction but I felt that if you wanted to know me these things were important.
Best:
Cameron

Hey Cameron,
Thank you and welcome.
Am humbled to be included in that august list.
Hi there!I'm an eclectic reader, always happy to discover a good thriller. Found your group while wandering around GoodReads.
Born in South Africa, living in Israel.
Aaron, not much snow here but pretty rainy. A cold weekend ahead. Good excuse to curl up with a book...
You're very welcome here Cameron and Dan. Have a look around and join in wherever appeals. We have a very interesting hotseat, our buddy read, Book Pals, and PIFM. All good fun.
Welcome to the newbies! You won't be newbies for long! We've got plenty of discussions, fun games and lots of books to read. A favorite of mine is the HOT SEAT, so if you don't mind the questions, and enjoy talking about your life, we'd love to get to know you. Enjoy!
Kath: Editors can be a brass plated, cast iron pain in the behind. SO can cats, but since they can ALSO be jewel studded too, you've got a serious problem! *wink*

How nice to live there.
Welcome to all the new members! I am sorry I have been out of pocket lately. With the death of my grandmother, there has been so much going on and I have just been out of touch. I am so happy to have you all here! Be sure to check out our fun games and Book Pals! Book Pals is a great way to get to know other members one on one with in the large group and take down that TBR list. I hope you all have a wonderful time here!

Great weather and swimming beaches in the (long) summer, and lots of interest in terms of history (archaeology, biblical locations) and ethnic diversity (over the weekend I discovered a new type of pita-like Moroccan bread called frena. Recipe: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Moroccan-...)
Hello everyone, my name is Phyllis and I just joined your group. I live in Gilbert Arizona just outside of Phoenix.
