Welcome, Alison and Stuart! I hope you all have a wonderful time here. Be sure to check out our new challenges and Book Pals! Book Pals are a great way to meet new members in the group one on one. It is a lot of fun and a way to tackle that TBR list that is ever growing! So glad to have you with us!
Hi Everybody,I'm retired and have been reading a lot for the past 60 years. Mysteries and Thrillers are my favorite genres. But I do branch out a little, from time to time. :)
I usually read ebooks purchased from iTunes and Amazon. I'm not a fast reader, I like to read slowly and enjoy the story. However, last year I managed to read about 70 books.
Thanks for this group, I'm always looking for new authors!
Bill
Hi everyone,I've been receiving your messages so I'm joining in. I love mysteries and thrillers. I grew up on Agatha Christie. There can never be too many twists and turns for me or dead bodies.
Susanne
Thank you all for the 'welcomes'. I'm starting to get the hang of Goodreads. I've started to post the books I've read (about 40 down and 4 or 5 hundred to go). A few minutes ago, I looked at Goodreads Recommendations! Wow, there's a lot of good stuff there. Along with advice from members, I'll never wonder who I should start reading next.
The more I see of this site and the people here, the more I like it.
My name is Alex Parker, I am originally from Memphis, Tennessee and currently live in Durban, South Africa but have prospects to move to Grand Junction, Colorado as I have been offered a job with the FAA. I am a radar technician by trade, the Air Force trained me up in that respect. I spent just over two years living in Europe(Italy and Switzerland) and have traveled around quite a lot. I write in my spare time and have published two novels, Alleged and Infallible. I love to read Ken Follett books and am currently almost halfway through the final book in the Century Trilogy. I look forward to getting to know you all.
Hello everyone I live near Philadelphia, PA. I do my fair share of reading I had to start a list of the books that I read so I don't rebuy them. I was asked to join the group by a member and I hope I don't disappoint the moderators by not joining every group read.
Hi Chris and welcome. No pressure to do anything here but enjoy the group. Just join in where ever you can! :))
Hi and welcome Bill (70 is alot of books), Susanne (LOL on the dead bodies comment), Alex (I envy your travels in Europe), and Chris (no expectations, just that you enjoy).

Doing well, except for hating the cold winter in my neck of the woods :)
Hello and welcome to Bill, Susanne, Alex, Chris, and Anuj. Glad to see all of you here. I'm Theresa Moretimer and although I do not have as much time to see and talk to everyone as I would like to, I do try to get here as often as I can. I hope you all enjoy it here. Bill...That's a lot of books lol, Susanne, I love dead bodies too lol, Alex, your life seems exciting! i may have to base a character on you, Chris, that's a great idea....When I'm writing I keep a list of my characters, what they wear, what they do, and what they look like as well as the type of personality hahah. It gets crazy. Anuj, I'm an Agatha Christie fan too. I hope all of you enjoy the group :) Happy new Year
Susanne wrote: "I also enjoy Sherlock Holmes. Elementary on TV does it nicely.Susanne"
Yes it does. My favorite is The Hounds of the Baskervilles.
Welcome to all the new members! We are so happy to have you with us. Be sure to check out our games, they are a lot of fun, and if you are looking to meet other members one on one join us for Book Pals. It is a good way to take down that TBR list and have discussion with other members at the same time. Take a look around and enjoy your time here!
Hi, I'm Nikita :) I'm mad about writing novels, watching movies, and anything to do with music. I'm a fourteen year old girl, and my favourite book genres are: Gothic Horror (obviously!) Romantic thrillers, Paranormal, and basically anything that's well-written, romantic, dangerous and action-packed.

Nikita, welcome.
wow, a fourteen year old author?
please mention your books. i'm sure all the group members will be delighted to support you.
Haha I wouldn't call myself an author exactly; I haven't published anything yet. But I'm passionate about writing and I do enough of it :) I'm just learning as much as I can, and hope to improve so maybe one day I'll be ready to publish :)
Hi Everyone-reading has always been my safe haven, my warm blanket, my escape, my sanctuary. I love to read anything, but especially mysteries and thrillers. My son passed away last year, and I stopped reading for a while. I am now able to get back to it, but only in short bursts, so I have a modest goal of 15 books to read this year. I am so glad I found this site and this group!
Welcome Nikita to the group.
And welcome Mary, I'm sorry to hear about your loss, 15 books still works out at more than one a month! You'll find lots of warm friendly voices and great recommendations here.

I am truly very sorry about your son. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to go forward after such a loss. You have joined a wonerful, kind and supportive group to ease back into reading with. You stick with us and reading will be your warm blanket again in no time. Oh, and you will have a "to be read" list 3 miles long.
Welcome Mary - with open arms,One of my dearest friends, in Kansas City, lost her oldest son about a month ago. There are no words to convey sadness with a friend loses a child. Or anyone, for that matter. I struggle with what to say to Patti, except to tell her I love her and I support her in whatever she needs.
My heart goes out to you.........and along with that, I offer you (and others) a huge welcome to our diverse group. We are quite a group!!!!!
