Gopal!!!!! Get over to the hotseat, it's getting cold.
Hi, I am from Hong Kong. I read English fiction sporadically before but it become habit recently. Chinese is my first language. I think I understand most of the content if the book is not too difficult. I am now reading the Millennium trilogy (The girl with dragon tatoo). Glad to hear any recommendation of good books for non-english speaker like i am. Thank you.Vincent Johnathan Wan
Welcome Vincent ! I admire you for not only learning a second language but also reading books in a second Language! Have you read any Stephen King books? I liked "Mr. Mercedes " I also just finished 11-23-1963 - a Time travel book about what would have happened if President Kennedy had not been assassinated. I am now reading "under The Dome" which has been made into a TV series.
Thanks all. I will try to read books from Stephen King. I have heard this famous author for long time but haven't tried before because I thought the English he used is difficult to me. I take "Mr. Mercedes" is good. I will try. Using a kindle with Chinese dictionary, I am on the third book of the Millennium. I am now a bit more confidence to read books other those for six-grader or teens.
Awesome Vincent! Stephen King is great and unique. I heard that "Mr Mercedes" is a great book and i will read it on the future. Now i m reading "22-11-63" and i m really enjoying it, it s an amazing book. I also read "Firestarter" and "the Long Walk", both good, but the "Long walk" is psychological and special, that s all i can say :) Aw yeah, stay away from "Dreamcatcher", not that bad but really some parts are really disturbing, at least don t start with it.
Duma Key is also a very good Stephen King book as well as Doctor Sleep. Christine and Pet Semetary are excellent too.
Yes Paula i heard that "Duma Key" is great. About "Doctor Sleep" is it connected to "Shining"? I heard that but i m not sure.
Yes Aymen, Doctor Sleep is about the young boy from the Shining who is now in his 30's and has all kinds of problems.

Welcome, welcome, welcome!!! There were 50 new entries since I have been able to log in here! I have been having to use my tablet, and it will not let me see the most recent comments, and there is no way I can go through thousands of comments sitting at my desk at work! Sigh. I miss when I could log into GR on my work computer. I am so happy to have all of you with us! My name is Autumn and I try to help out whenever I can. If I can ever be of any help to you, please let me know!
Be sure to check out our Book Pals! It is a great way to get to know other members of the group one on one and take down that TBR list with a partner.

I got to say this! I LOVE the energy we get in here. The moderators are definitely enthusiastic, helpful, and fun, not to mention Goofy, OCD (per Brenda), and certifiable! :P Some members are really great with following your reviews, recommending books and just love to get to know you! All you got to do is say "Hi, I'm so-and-so, I'm a new member" and bam, instant book friends! Be careful of the stalkers though, (who me?!?). :P Welcome!

Related? Or is my imagination reading into it something sinister...?
I'm hoping it's just chicken and stuff.
