Howdy all. Name is Josh. I live in Oklahoma City, OK. Originally from Phoenix, AZ but spent most of my early life in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Not an author, just a guy who enjoys a good thriller. Haven't had a chance to read a whole lot the last few years do to Ph.D. work, but starting to have a little more time for some leisure reading in the last few months. Stumbled on to goodreads recently and have enjoyed all the interaction and recommendations. Great site with friendly folks.

Hello,I live in New York City. I am very excited, because a Scandinavian lit expert I met at a wedding just told me about the thrillers of Arne Dahl. I've just started reading Mysterioso. For mystery/thriller reading I LOVE Henning Mankell, Tana French, and I enjoy Karin Fossum's books but inevitably feel disappointed in the ending and blah-ness of Inspecter Sejer. I do NOT like the Dragon Tattoo books and could not get into Jo Nesbo's book. Joining this book group to get ideas for new authors.
I am a freelance writer who writes on almost every topic and in many types of media for my work life. I also write creative nonfiction (for fun). I am an obsessive knitter, have one son at college and a girl in HS.
OK, that's all about me for now!
Nancy
Hi Nancy and welcome to the group. When I first went from reading non-fiction to fiction thrillers, I started with the Scandinavian authors. Karin Fossum and Jo Nesbo are two of my favorite authors but I also like Jussi Adler-Olsen, Kjell Ola Dahl, Ake Edwardson, Ann Holt, Arnaldur Indridason, Mari Jungstedt, Asa Lasson, and Johan Theorin. I have loved every Kristina Ohlsson book I have read. Although I have heard of Arne Dahl, I haven't read any of his work. I think I will add him to my list. Mysterioso looks very interesting.

Thanks Pat, We are having a Tropical Depression now with lots of storms. This will soon pass and it should be warm, say in the 80’s.
