I am basically new to this genre but have found an author I think fits the bill with this group. I wanted to get recommendations of like books. I am a huge fan of Dominic Piper. His work is about an edgy PI who has the craziest cases. Lots of action, adventure, and plot twists. Has anyone read his work? If not you're missing out. If you have, who else would you recommend that writes similarly?
Lisa wrote: "Thanks for the recommendation. Will look him up." Thanks for having me in here. Hopefully, I will find some books that compare to his way of storytelling.

Hello I am Marti. I feel this is the group for me because I love a good thriller. I am always searching for the biggest, most shocking one out there. I live in Texas with my hubs and my 2 preteen daughters. I work at our High School which I love and if you think about it, nowadays working at a high school is basically a "good thriller".Looking forward to learning book titles from you and meeting some like minded friends.
Beth wrote: "Hello fellow book lovers. My aunt was a first grade teacher and taught me to read at age 4, and I never looked back. All the teenage things, building a family stuff, etc., but always with a book in..."Defending Jacob is and will always be a top favorite for me.

Hi, my name is Paisley! I'm from Scotland, U.K. 😄 just joined and like the rest of yous, I am a definite fan of the thriller genre!
Hiya! I'm Emily. I've lived in North and South Carolina my entire life. I've been an avid reader since I was a kid... My mom is to thank for that. Mysteries have always been my favorite. And this is my first time joining a book club, so I'm not sure what to expect.
Welcome guys! You can expect lots of friendly voices and a warm welcome to this very friendly group. Any questions, just ask. Enjoy! ☺️

I'm Carol. I live in Northern Indiana, and I LOVE Thrillers, and psychological suspense. I retired from the University of Notre Dame in 2012, after nearly 34 terrific years. My husband and I enjoy going out for dinner and love to try new restaurants.
Hello, my name is Jim, I have lived in Jacksonville, FL for 25 years, formerly lived in N. Mich. and Wis. I am retired. My favorite place to travel is Ireland. I go for the golf and pubs. Maybe that's why my favorite mystery/crime writers are mostly Irish. I also seem to always look for UK crime writers too. The Norfolk coast currently is an area I am interested in traveling to so I have read a few stories about the area. If you're a birder you might try Steve Burrows, who has written 4 "birder mysteries" that involve the coastal region. I am reading Jim Kelly now who also writes crime fiction with King's Lynn as a backdrop for his stories.

Thank you, Amber. That's much better than the ending to Ken Bruen's "The Emerald Lie", I must say. Are you in charge of "Welcome to the Family"?, and if so, how do you select the welcoming package?
Welcome Carol and Jim

I'm in charge of if only because I was the one who came up with it, Jim. Anyone else, including Sean, who has an interest in it, can take it over at any time. All he or she needs is at least one YouTube playlist with at least 100 videos in it.As to how I select the items that I use, I simply use whatever video happens to be playing. Right now that means this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXjOO... (The Ten Commandments (4/10) Movie CLIP - You Will Be My Wife (1956) HD).

Jim, welcome to the group and thanks for mentioning the birder murder books! I'm a birder and love U.K. crime books, too. Have you read Elly Griffith? The 7th book in her Ruth Galloway series, The Ghost Fields, is set in Norfolk and involves an old WWII plane.

No, I have not, thank you so much. I will be sure to investigate.
Isn't that what a good detective would do? I was bemoaning the fact that I didn't know of a good new mystery the other day when I just happened on the "good thriller" site and Sean invited me in. I am looking forward to all the new entertainment. And, the selection is a little overwhelming. Like going shopping today.

And it's not a lot of extra work for me.
Hi all I wrote a long intro yesterday but then it didn't post, do here goes again.
I'm Edie Baylis and live in central England with my partner, kids and oversized dog.
I'm new to Goodreads although I've no idea why as I've always loved reading and have a humongous book collection which is a nightmare when we move house. Not that I would dream of getting rid of any!
As well as hoarding books I also hoard music 😀
I'm looking forward to reading all the topics in your group and hopefully get involved (have no idea even how to add people as friends at the mo!)
I'm about to publish my debut psychological suspense thriller so it's all very exciting.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!!
Hi, Edie. Your "Welcome tot he Family" URL is 007 : James Bond : Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9Fzg...
Hi John and welcome. I like thrillers too, but prefer a good psychological murder. It's sometimes difficult to tell them apart - thrillers and psychological. I'm re-reading the Joe Pickett books by CJ Box at the moment and they're Thrillers on the cover, but could easily be catalogued as Psychological murder mysteries!
Welcome John and Edie! Enjoying our lovely summer?! I'm seriously considering putting a fleece on! Anyway, hope you enjoy our group. Any questions, if you get stuck, ask away! ☺️
