ShanDizzy (sdizzy) Hello, I'm Shannon from the Florida Panhandle. Here in Florida, we're battening down the hatches preparing for Irma. If it follows the predicted path, I think most of us will be ok with minimal damage. I've been happily married for over 20 years (no children). I work at a CPA firm; my husband has own handyman business. We're content and happy. I'm an unashamed bibliophile. I'd rather read than watch TV. I prefer reading fiction since I live reality each day and sometimes like to escape. My preferred genres are British mysteries. But I do love thrillers, especially spy (just finished Robert Ludlum's Covert One - The Geneva Strategy) and am addicted to Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels, but have recently discovered author Daniel Judson's "The Agent" series and loving it! Anyway, I look forward to seeing recommendations and reading reviews/comments from this group's topics. Thanks for having me.

Maine Colonial (mainecolonial) | 4 comments Hi everyone. I was born in Maine, lived in Chicago and San Francisco for 30 years, then came back to Maine with my husband in 2003. I couldn't wait to get away when I was a kid, but now I can't imagine living anywhere else.

I love reading crime fiction (traditional British, Eurocrime, police procedurals), espionage, literary fiction, and history (especially World War II and Cold War).

I've been on Goodreads for years, but it's only this year that I've really started exploring all that GR has to offer. This looks like such a great group.

Eszter | 1 comments Hi Everyone,

I have just recently joined this lovely group an so far I love it :) I was born and grew up in Hungary, but I live in Australia now. I love everything crime-related, be it the classical Agatha Christie or an exciting suspense or thriller from a nowadays author.

So many great titles can be found in this group, I doubt one lifetime will be enough for me to read them all :)

Tia (tia_peculiarpages) | 47 comments Hi Guys,
I'm Tanishque from J&K, India :).
I think I fell in love with reading when I used to travel to West Bengal with my mom & dad for his job and would always have Chacha-Chaudhary The Land of Sabu by Pran Kumar Sharma. Till this date, I by heart remember this comic.
The journey of reading began and well I never looked back if I did it was to reread few books I read earlier.
well since I've joined a dental college it's become difficult for me but nevertheless, i try and find time.
Happy Reading

message 7868: by Thamy (new)

Thamy | 33 comments Hi! I'm Thamy. Thank you very much for the invitation to this group. I'm a blogger reviewer and since I bought my Kindle I haven't been able to stop reading. From 12 a year I got to 70 books the same year I got it (and it grows each year, I really need to control myself). Since I got into Netgalley, I noticed myself reading more and more thrillers, which was a genre I already liked without really being aware of it.

Lately, I've been trying to be more outspoken and take part of the many groups here on GR. I can't wait to explore this one and talk with the members.

message 7869: by Caitlyn (new)

Caitlyn | 1 comments Hey everyone! My name is Caitlyn and I'm a small town girl currently living in West Virginia with 27 years of awesomeness under my belt! I'm highly extroverted, but love reading, especially Stephen King. I love making people laugh and just love people. I'm a very social person. My motto is: You only go around once, get all the laughs in you can. Life is too short to be anything but yourself!

I work full-time, but I take my book everywhere! I don't care what people think of me and I don't follow the 'crowd.' I'm blunt and say what's on my mind, but I have a heart of gold! I'm looking forward to being introduced to new books!

message 7870: by Solange (new)

Solange | 10 comments Hi everyone. I'm a lawyer and author of THE BURNING MAN a thriller. I was born in Jamaica in the West Indies. I've lived in South Florida, California and Chicago. I love writing strong characters who are complicated and I intriguing. I'm a big James Bond fan. My next novel FIRESTORM is due to be released in the spring of 2018. I hope some of you will give it a read and review

message 7871: by Mara (last edited Sep 15, 2017 11:21PM) (new)

Mara Pemberton (marapem) | 179 comments I'm Mara and I live on the North Coast of California in Humboldt County. I am a big book lover. I love AUDIOBOOKS. I don't think I have read a real book in quite a while. I'd say at least 8 or 9 years since I discovered Apple's iPod just after my Gdaughter was born. I now listen to books on my iPhone.

I love all kinds of books. I try to mix and match my reading, but sometimes it's hard, especially when a Historical Romance comes up that I want to read and I've just finished a Historical Romance.

I love mysteries and thrillers. I love David Baldacci, but due to the new narrator he has for his books, I haven't been listening to him that much. I love Historical Mysteries, especially the ones that are written with tongue and cheek humor. I love British Police Procedurals. My two favorite authors in this category are Angela Marsons. She writes the Kim Stone books. And Robert Bryndza. He writes the Erika Foster books.

message 7881: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 2 comments Hi there

Rach from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Originally from New Zealand but have lived her for 4 years.

Radiographer by trade and love a good read I go through fits and spurts of solid reading, I've recently started catching the bus to work so now have 40mins of uninterrupted time to catch up on my to read lists!

I'll give anything a try really David Baldacci is a favourite Lee Child used to be but I find his books rather repetitive these days. I just love a good crime/government thriller. But that doesn't stop me from reading the odd historical war fiction or a cult classic!

If I had it my way our spare bedroom would be a library I love the feel and look of a book. Not much one for an e reader. Off to the shops this weekend to get a new bookshelf I've filled my current one!

Hope to find a few good recommendations from the group to fill up the next shelf!

Rach
