Hi group,I have very selfish reasons for wanting to be a part of this group. I'm Karl, age twenty-eight, from southwest Florida. I've read about one hundred to one thirty books a year for the past five years or so. Most of these are of the mystery suspense persuasion. The reason I like this group is that I may be able to network with like minded people to get more ideas for more reads. Maybe that isn't so much selfish as it is efficient. Thanks for having me.

Welcome, Karl! That's what we're all here for. More books! You'll find lots of ideas here, I'm sure.
Hello Karl, welcome to the group. I also read over a hundred books a year and always looking for new authors to read. I have had great recommendations here.
Hello everyone --I have been a member of Goodreads for some time and am a Goodreads author with one book published and another on the way.
I honestly cannot remember whether or not I ever introduced myself to this group, so if I'm repeating myself, I apologize. I'm from the high desert country of Reno, Nevada. I enjoy reading gritty, realistic thrillers (John Sandford, Michael Connelly, Stephen Hunter, James Lee Burke) written in the third person, and write my own novels in a similar fashion.
I'm looking forward to interacting with all of you.
Best regards,
DRJ

Hello there. I'm Sheri - reader of everything. I have my favorites (who doesn't?) but not afraid to try someone new. I have been known to call in sick when a new Lisa Scottoline or Sarah Rayne book has come out! ha!! I have been a member of Goodreads for awhile and it's been a great way to discover new-to-me authors!

I'm Darlene. I live in Mpls, MN. I love reading mystery thrillers. I love discovering new authors. I don't read romance novels at all. I have written two books that are nothing like my choice of reading.I can't afford to travel, so my
reading takes me to places I'm not able to get to.
I constantly go to book sales and used book stores, so I have four book shelves overflowing with books. I never seem to get to my own books because I'm always getting books from library of new recommendations. But someday I will get to my own collection of books.

Welcome Darlene. You should enjoy this group, however, it may clutter your shelves a bit more. Have fun with us. Minneapolis in the winter is a great place to cozy up to a book. Some great novels set in Minneapolis, too. John Sanford and Tami Hoag come to mind. This makes it interesting to me as I had my first kidney transplant at the University in 1968. So, I have spent quite a bit of time in Minneapolis.Have fun,
Cameron
Welcome Graham, David (don't change your pic.. ;)), Darlene and Sheri. We are a pretty informal group here, but as always there is a lot of chatter going around in the multiple threads that we have for all the like minded readers... So pick your thread and dive in.
Hello. My name is Patrícia. I am Brazilian, currently living in the UK (but only until June). I love reading, all kinds of books and stories. I don't really have a favourite author, because I try to pick books from different writers, so I can taste different points of view. My challenge for 2015 is to read at least 20 books. I will be happy to hear your suggestions on books to read.
Hi Patricia
Welcome to the group, we have some many nationalities here and lots of great recommendations.

Hi everyone. I'm Luffy(not my real name) and I don't know how much participation will come from me, but at first glance this group looks very friendly. 90% of the books I've read since joining GR has been Mystery/Thriller, although more than half of that are cozies. That's it I suppose.
Welcome Luffy,
Thanks for the PM.
Have a look around, you will see we are a little different ... in a good way !
