Mike | 353 comments Recently finished Chimes at Midnight (October Daye, #7) by Seanan McGuire , The Long Way Down (Daniel Faust #1) by Craig Schaefer , and Enemies (The Girl in the Box #7) by Robert J. Crane . They were all really good. Now I am reading Venom (Elemental Assassin, #3) by Jennifer Estep and Deathwish (Cal Leandros #4) by Rob Thurman .

Fawn (FawnCal) | 4 comments Look Back in Anger: Episode One

Look back in Anger: Episode Two

Episode Three

Episode Four

Next I plan to read...Nomad Super excited!!

I just caught up with this series this morning. Recently, I've been reading a lot of Blake Crouch, which is not PNR. BUT I came across this author through my editor friends, and I love her. She does fantastic gritty, twisted, dark paranormal romance. I think Patricia Briggs, JL Bryan, and SN Graves are my favorites in the PNR genre right now. Can't get enough.

message 2206: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Reading Dark Prince (Dark, #1) by Christine Feehan - I've realized what it is about Feehan's writing that bugs me. Too much telling and not enough showing. Nevertheless, its turning into a quick read despite the length.

Listening to The Girl On Legare Street (Tradd Street, #2) by Karen White - I love Aimée Bruneau's southern accent.

Me too!

message 2208: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) @Mike - The Long Way Down sounds nice and gritty. I've added it to my TBR list.

I've decided to keep reading the Spellcrackers series but I have to wait for the third book. While I'm waiting I've gone ahead and read Magic Lost, Trouble Found (Raine Benares #1) by Lisa Shearin , which was better than its cheesy cover would imply, and now I'm reading Armed & Magical (Raine Benares #2) by Lisa Shearin . I'll finish out this series (six books) before going back to the Spellcrackers series.

It is gritty and there are some really nice different takes on magic and the paranormal.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments Sandra wrote: "Reading and enjoying Unbinding (World of the Lupi, #11) by Eileen Wilks"

I just started that one last night, got about halfway done. I'm finding it a bit boring, there is so much magical/otherworld stuff that has to be explained and is important you can't skim. I really like Benedict, so am glad to see lots of him, but I miss Lily and Rule.

message 2215: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments I'm reading Highland Wolf Pact A Scottish Werewolf Shifter Romance by Selena Kitt , which I believe is Selena Kitt's first urban fantasy/ PNR try. I'm having a hard time sticking with it, but not because it's bad, it's quite good so far actually. My brain is just not into reading right now, so I've been filling my time with solitaire. Which is a million times more boring than the most boring book!!

I was just thinking the same thing - missing Lily & Rule. Though EW does mix up her H/hs, they are my favs.

Judith Post | 130 comments I just finished Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost and loved it. I got a little worried, because Jeaniene Frost can push my buttons on the level of torture/violence in her books, but everything was hinted at, not shown, so I got through it. (I know. I'm a wimp). But Leila and Vlad were wonderful together! Really loved this book.

Just think, you still have another one that's already out and one still to come that is all Vlad and Leila! I can't wait for the last one, and for any possible Night Huntress World books.

I've been reading the Sassy Mates series by Milly Taiden. I'm on Unexpectedly Mated (Sassy Mates, #3) by Milly Taiden , the third book in the series. They've all been pretty good so far. They're pretty far into the erotica zone though, and more so with each book in the series. I have a couple other series by her I'd like to check out, so I'm glad I'm liking these.

message 2221: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 130 comments Have you read the second one? Will I be too squeamish to enjoy it? I'm a little worried:)

message 2222: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments It's been a while, but it seems like there were a few gory spots, though I don't really remember if there was any torture. It almost seems like the second one may have been slightly worse than the first, but still not too bad. I do love me some Vlad though!

message 2223: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 130 comments I love Vlad, too. Wish I wasn't such a wimp. Might have to close my eyes and skim parts of his next book:)

message 2229: by Angie (last edited Oct 23, 2014 03:58AM) (new)

Angie | 419 comments Arielle, your the reigning champ at guess the book right? Have you caught up with Trina M. Lee's Alexa O'Brien series? I think I figured I have 2 or 3 novella/ short stories to read and one or two novels. I say two because I have to go back and read at least the end of the last one, because it's been so long. And I *HAVE* to catch up because my book boyfriend (one of many, I'm a fictional hootchie mama!) Arys has his own short story, preordered and delivered weeks ago. He's so my favorite character in that series and I need to read a whole short story in his POV!! Smashed

message 2230: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) I have finished out the Raine Benares series, snuck in a charming historical mystery set in the golden age of the 1930s, and am now ready to start the newest Charley Davidson (Reyes!!) book.

Sometimes when you read too many series it's easy to lose track of one... Thanks so much for reminding me! And that's awesome we get a book in his POV!

I'm the same way, I'm reading so many series in progress that I forget some of them. I've been trying to read stuff that's either light and fluffy, so I don't get upset if I miss a new one for a year or two, or I make sure they're already completed. The only exceptions are the really high profile stuff, like Kate Daniels, that I've been saying for MONTHS that I was going to read!!

message 2243: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Finished up Dark Needs at Night's Edge (Immortals After Dark, #5) by Kresley Cole which I enjoyed a lot and now am listening to Dark Desires After Dusk (Immortals After Dark, #6) by Kresley Cole (yum Cade). The narrator of this series does a great job. Going to try to listen to one of these a month until I get caught up.

Not sure what I'm going to read. Lot's of new releases yesterday. Not sure what order but the next three will be Flight of Magpies (A Charm of Magpies, #3) by K.J. Charles or Smiley (New Species, #13) by Laurann Dohner or Archangel's Shadows (Guild Hunter, #7) by Nalini Singh

I think Smiley will be first cuz I'm dying to know how she's going to pull off making a primate sexy.

I love this series and Arys' book was great BUT you must be caught up to read it. It's his pov as to events in the last book and shortly after. It was great to hear his side of things. The author did a good job imo and kept him true to character.
