Well, if book #2 and #3 are anything like #1 that will definitely be the case :0)

As far as I know, Frost is still planning to do more in the "Night Huntress World". She said she may even do a follow up on the new person introduced in the last Bones and Cat book. (Trying not to be all spoilery, in case anyone hasn't read it yet! ;-)) I've bought the first in her new series, Beautiful Ashes, but I haven't read it yet. I'm getting tired of waiting a year between books, so I'll wait until the last of the three is about to be released before I jump into those.

Right now I've been reading a bunch of advanced reader copies I got from netgalley. The one I'm on now, What a Lady Demands by Ashlyn Macnamara , is a regency romance, and while it's fun to read something not paranormal every once in a while, this one is so far from paranormal that I'm a little in shock. Not even a pretend ghost in sight so far!!

message 2154: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Wow...51 posts since last time I checked in. I guess it's been awhile...

I'm currently reading Darkness (New Species, #12) by Laurann Dohner which is typical unrealistic New Species but I love every smutty minute of it. Darkness is broody and purrs and has handcuffs....yum. :D

After three attempts I finally got through No Rest for the Wicked (Immortals After Dark, #3) by Kresley Cole I hated the heroine. She's going on my worst heroine ever list. I'm now listening to Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark, #4) by Kresley Cole and really enjoying it. The narrator is good and does a nice job on Bowan.

Also listening to Aloha from Hell (Sandman Slim, #3) by Richard Kadrey which is good. Better than the last book imo. Stark makes me lol at some of the things he says.

Judith Post | 130 comments I love to read a Regency now and then, but then I'm still in love with Mr. Darcy. The new Regencies are a little racier, though. Took me by surprise, but I like them:)

message 2156: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments It ended up being pretty good. Since it's an advanced copy, I'm not supposed to post the review until the second to last Tuesday in October. Now I'm reading Furry United Coalition Bundle (Furry United Coalition, #1-3) by Eve Langlais , which I'm going to guess is way closer to erotica than the regency was!

message 2157: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 130 comments Lol. It's hard to wrap my head around "erotic" and "furry" together. Who knew?

message 2158: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments The Coalition is a police force for shifters in this series. The FUC, formerly known as the FUCD, but someone thought the D made it vulgar. That's how it's explained in the beginning. It's pretty corny, some of the things they think about their own animals and other people's animals. Like the giraffe has the most graceful neck she's ever seen, except maybe for the swan in the IT department. Of course her thoughts about the bear shifter she's got the hots for are way more explicit. It's amusing me though. I'd say that it's not a book for everyone, but it's definitely going toward the erotica side of things already.

Abby | 62 comments I was up til 5am this morning so I was able to actually finish both Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss, #1) by Nalini Singh and Beneath It All by Tori Madison which were both really good reads however I have to warn you... Beneath It All by Tori Madison Is SUCH an emotional read...

I've posted my review of it if you want to take a look but I do highly recommend it https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Now I'm trying to decide what to read next lol

I just read part of the blurb for Beneath It All, and I think I could honestly say I wouldn't be able to make it through it, I have two aunts who fought breast cancer for years. One won that battle, but we're still watching the other fight the good fight. I'd be too horribly emotional to try to read it. It does look like a good story though, just not one I personally would be able to handle.

I'm thinking it's the authors life story and the only reason I say that is because the woman in the book is Victoria Madison, the authors name is Tori Madison and there's people in the book that she mentions in her thank yous at the end and she says she IS a Breast cancer survivor... I've had a few friends diagnosed with it along with an aunt and I found while reading it it was more about Hope and survival and not focusing on the negative but yes I can understand how it would be hard for some... Depends on the people I guess

I did see a review that said something similar, and that the husband was HOT! Or at least I think it was the husband. I'm very glad that it's more about hope than all the bad things that go with this diagnosis. So many people need hope when they hear those words.

Yea but by the end you want to slowly stick a needle in the husband's eye....

What did you think of Darkness?? These two really irritated me I wanted to throttle them at times

I like the IAD series but some books I don't enjoy as much as others which I guess is to be expected.

I actually liked Darkness (the character). The girl...eh...she was ok. She didn't make a lot of sense to me. The story went on a little too long. BUT...for me New Species is a guilty pleasure series. I think they're kind of silly but that's what I like about them. They're like cupcakes. They have no nutritional value and I usually feel guilty later but at the moment I love them. If I think about the plot I could tear it apart but Darkness was broody and had handcuffs and purred so I was totally entertained for a bit. :D (I did like seeing Fury and Salvation and Slade and Forrest.)

I was more intrigued by Winter Makepeace than the hero of this book tbh and really want to get to his book. But I will read them in order, lol.

I'm almost half way through A Conspiracy of Alchemists (The Chronicle of Light and Shadow, #1) by Liesel Schwarz now.

Alisa Just finished Entity Mine (Chimera Chronicles, #2) by Karin Shah and currently reading House at the End of the World by Madeleine Marsh which is pretty good but not what I'm in the mood for. Kind of in a book funk. Nothing's really wowing me lately. Really wanting something I'm going to love. I think I'm finally going to get around to reading Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane

It took me two tries to truly get into and through Unholy Ghosts, but then I was completely and utterly hooked on the series. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment. I hope you enjoy it! It is one of my favorite series of all time, so when I hear of someone considering this series, I get all excited!

I loved Unholy Ghosts. The protagonist's voice is unusual enough, it felt like a fresh take on urban fantasy. Hope it gets you out of your funk:)

LastBreath (last_breath) | 242 comments I just finished Darkest Powers Bonus Pack 1 (Darkest Powers Trilogy 0.5, 1.5, 2.5) by Kelley Armstrong by Kelley Armstrong and am now stuck. I checked on Amazon for a digital copy of The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, #3) by Kelley Armstrong but it's currently unavailable - the library has 'temporarily misplaced' their copy, the secondhand stores rarily carry any Armstrong work and I'm a bit of a penny pincher and don't wanna pay full retail at the book store (how sad is that!).

So I've started on Hubble Bubble by Jane Lovering huge change of pace, but maybe what I need.
