message 51: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments LOL. I often have the same prob Sonia, the fight is about 50/50 at the moment.

Reading Deep Kiss of Winter (Includes Immortals After Dark, #8; Alien Huntress, #4.5) by Kresley Cole and the IAD book is 300 pgs, so a full bk if you ask me and still the Gena Showalter one to go. Definitely good so far :D

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Finally finished Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy, #2) by Deborah Harkness what a long book!!

I think if you are not interested in 16th century England you would hate that book. Personally it left me with a bunch of confusing questions for example I thought Mary Sidney was known best for being the ghost writer for William Shakespeare yet in the book she is portrayed as an alchemist.

Conversely the stories around Christopher Marlowe made some sense but not a lot like he was supposed to be a spy for the crown, but in the book he has nothing to do with the queen... didn't he also have a thing for you boys?? I guess that would be the warning to Jack.

Not a bad book just very long and tough to get into. At times I forgot why they even went back and I never figured out why the chose 1951? Does anyone recall??

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) finished Darkness Falls (Darkness Falls, #1) by Jessica Sorensen , it was really good. i ended up rating it for stars.

I actually adored this book and love the time travel aspect. I believe they picked that time period for two reasons. The first was to try to track down the book, Ashmole 782, that keeps eluding everyone and the time and proximity is close to where they believe the book to be. Secondly, I think it was in a place and time that would keep Diana fairly safe from being hunted as a witch. Did you notice it seems when Matthew goes back in time the Matthew of the time period appears to go missing? I find that interesting. Is he actually going in to hiding at the time or does he displace himself?

It was a good book but not as good as the first.
But I was trying to understand if 1591 had some purpose I mean why not 1650 see what I mean? But I think you may be on to something perhaps that is why they chose 1591 because they knew Matthew of that time was tied up.

I really cannot wait to see how it ends but honestly my favorite character I think is Gallowglass,

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I never know why I bother posting what I am planning to read because I constantly change my mind...anywho here is what I finished

Highlander Most Wanted (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #2) by Maya Banks this was a bit of a surprise I had some trepidation about going into it but I ended up loving it.

Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor I am not sure how to say this but I loved the first half of the book then in the second half it was not so good
(view spoiler)

Rajmund (Vampires in America, #3) by D.B. Reynolds This was good and bad lol mainly because they are idiots.

The Dragon Keeper (Rain Wild Chronicles, #1) by Robin Hobb First Robin Hobb book and it was good to bad I did not start at the beginning of the series where things would have made more sense.

The vampire Miriam is not really a sympathetic character like today's vamps. She is presented as a consumate predator albeit lonely. I read it first in my late teens but I have enjoyed it more now (mid thirties). The next twoThe Last Vampire and Lilith's Dream added more to Strieber's vampire world but were not as good and created inconsistancies with The Hunger, I enjoyed them but I don't think I'll be hurry to re-read.
