Cassandra Clare
“Dear God, woman,"said Will. "Are there any questions you don't want to know the answer to?”
Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince

C. JoyBell C.
“When I was a little girl, everything in the world fell into either of these two categories: wrong or right. Black or white. Now that I am an adult, I have put childish things aside and now I know that some things fall into wrong and some things fall into right. Some things are categorized as black and some things are categorized as white. But most things in the world aren't either! Most things in the world aren't black, aren't white, aren't wrong, aren't right, but most of everything is just different. And now I know that there's nothing wrong with different, and that we can let things be different, we don't have to try and make them black or white, we can just let them be grey. And when I was a child, I thought that God was the God who only saw black and white. Now that I am no longer a child, I can see, that God is the God who can see the black and the white and the grey, too, and He dances on the grey! Grey is okay.”

Becca Fitzpatrick
“Quit calling me Grey. It makes me sound like I’m a boy. Like Dorian Gray.”

“Dorian who?”

I sighed. “Just think up something else. Plain old Nora works too, you know.”

“Sure thing, Gumdrop.”

I grimaced. “I take that back. Let’s stick with Grey.”
Becca Fitzpatrick, Silence

Cassandra Clare
“She hated that will had this effect on her. Hated it. She knew better. She knew what he thought of her. That she was worth nothing. And still a look from him could make her tremble with mingled hatred and longing. It was like poison in her blood, to which Jem was the only antidote.”
Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince

E.L. James
“Goodbye, Christian," I murmur.

"Ana, goodbye," he says softly, and he looks utterly, utterly broken,a man in agonizing pain, reflecting how I feel inside. I tear my gaze away from him before I can change my mind and try to comfort him.

The elevator doors close close and it whisks me down to the bowels of the basement and to my own personal hell.”
E.L. James, Fifty Shades of Grey

A.A. Milne
“She also considered very seriously what she would look like in a little cottage in the middle of the forest, dressed in a melancholy gray and holding communion only with the birds and trees; a life of retirement away from the vain world; a life into which no man came. It had its attractions, but she decided that gray did not suit her.”
A.A. Milne, Once on a Time

Cassandra Clare
“He banged on the side of the carriage. "Thomas! We must away at once to the nearest brothel. I seek scandal and low companionship.”
Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Angel

Karen Marie Moning
“I would wear pink because I knew my future was anything but rosy. I would accessorize myself to the hilt, and I would wear flirty shoes because my world needed more beauty to counter all the ugliness in it. I would wear pink because I hated gray, I didn’t deserve white, and I was sick of black.”
Karen Marie Moning, Bloodfever

Shinde Sweety
“No person is completely wicked, just as no person is perfect. We are all grey”
Shinde Sweety, Arjun: Without a Doubt

George R.R. Martin
“All the color had been leached from Winterfell until only grey and white remained. The Stark colors. Theon did not know whether he ought to find that ominous or reassuring. Even the sky was grey. The eyes of the bride were brown. Big and brown and full of fear.
George R.R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons

Oliver Markus
“Look at the huge success of Fifty Shades of Grey. The girl in the book lets a rich guy beat her and ritually rape her, and she likes it! She finds it erotic! But imagine if Christian Grey wasn't a billionaire. Imagine if he lived in a dirty old trailer down by the river. Then that story wouldn't be a sexy romance novel, but an episode of CSI.”
Oliver Markus, Why Men And Women Can't Be Friends

Julie Reece
“We're going to die. We're going to die..."
"We're not going to die," he barks. "Do YOU want to drive?"
My head shakes violently. "No way."
"Then stop...side seat driving!”
Julie Reece, Crux

Oliver Markus
“If you call yourself an "authoress" on your Facebook profile, you suck at life. You are stupid and your children are ugly. It doesn't matter if you're just trying to be cute and original. You're not. You are about as original as all those other witless twits "writing" the one millionth shitty Fifty Shades clone. Or maybe you're trying to show your 2000 fake Facebook "friends" that you are an empowered feminist who will not stand for sexist terminology. But you're not showing people that you are fighting the good fight, you're showing people that you are a sheep, who's trying just a little too hard to ride the current wave of idiotic political correctness. The word "author" is no more gender-discrimination than the word "person." Do you call yourself a personess? No, of course not, because then you might as well wear a sign around your neck that says, "Hello, I'm a retard.”
Oliver Markus

Oscar Wilde
“Because to influence a person is to give him one's own soul. He does not think his natural thoughts, or burn with his natural passions. His virtues are not real to him. His sins, if there are such things as sins, are borrowed. He becomes an echo of some one else's music, an actor of a part that has not been written for him. The aim of life is self-development. To realize one's nature perfectly -- that is what each of us is here for. People are afraid of themselves, nowadays. They have forgotten the highest of all duties, the duty that one owes to one's self.”
Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray

“White stars don't mix with the dark blackness of the universe.
If they did... everything would be grey”
Erik Tanghe

Julie Reece
“There are attractive people in this world, and there's Mathew's son, Grey.”
Julie Reece, Crux

“For grey matter, there is no black and white. If you think in black and white, then you do not use enough brain functions.”
Petek Kabakci

R.Y.S. Perez
“And not one person would notice the grey parts of her until it was too late, because everyone falls for a pretty face.”
R.Y.S. Perez, I Hope You Fall in Love: Poetry Collection

Ljupka Cvetanova
“Things are always either black or white. The grey in between is only a confusion.”
Ljupka Cvetanova, The New Land

Pepper Winters
“Nothing is ever black and white, Nila. You should know that bu now. Its all how you survive the grey." -Kes”
Pepper Winters, Third Debt

Chuck Wendig
“All hail the light, the dark, and the grey.”

E.L. James
“I turn over and lie flat on my back, staring at the ceiling. When she slept beside me, I slept well. I need her in my life, in my bed. She was the day to my night. I'm going to get her back.”
E.L. James, Grey

“Grey is… such a mean word. I don’t remember a time when I thought grey was anything but… pain. No matter how many clothes I’ve designed, I’ve always avoided that one colour. It’s a colour that is undecided. A colour that is full of heartache, confusion and misunderstanding. Yet it seems… Everyone else chose to be grey. Left all other colours. Left black and it’s darkness. Left white and it’s lightness. And just, hold on to all shades of grey. To me… Grey is not a colour no a feeling. Grey is… you and me.”
dee Juusan, Grey is...

Sanhita Baruah
“I had seen the world as either white or black.
It is only when I read the pages of her diary that I understood why the sky looked so grey.”
Sanhita Baruah

Christina Engela
“The Doktor was very vond, I mean fond of Vluffy, so he gave him a flame-proof doggie-jacket. It was dull grey, but it had a tartan pattern on it. Vluffy liked his doggie-jacket and wore it all the time. When things went ‘bang’ he could just roll over, dust himself off and quickly scamper off with the doggie jacket flapping on his back. So in short, Vluffy was a very happy little dog who spent a lot of his time hiding under furniture. But the point is that he’d had a lot of time. Much more than those who went (up in smoke) before him.”
Christina Engela, Innocent Minds

Ружа Лазарова
“Блоковете отново бягат зад стъклото и оставят сива следа да витае във въздуха. Сива като лъжата. По безчувствената буза на Рада бавно се стича сълза.”
Ружа Лазарова, Мавзолей

“Same time as every day, Fyl..." she fussed, the rest of the bridge crew seeming to hold their breaths. "TWELVE THIRTY!" came the chorus. The next hour dragged by, in about the same way as the hour before that. At twelve twenty-five, Commander Ortez found himself stepping out of an elevator into an equally mundane grey steel corridor on his way to the mess hall. Turning a corner, he met with a stream of crewmen milling around between shifts. Some off-duty personnel were lounging around in civvies, which consisted mostly of re-revamped 60's hippy fashions. Of all the places on the ship, the mess was the most spacious, (i.e.: it was a big mess.) The command officer’s balcony overhung the rest of the crew dining area. Ortez sat at his usual place, wincing as he remembered to get someone to fix the springs in his chair. An ensign, 3rd class dressed in chef’s white, served him with a plate of what either ended up feeding the chefs latest pet - or strangling it. Marnetti, Barnum and the sciences officer Commander Jaris Skotchdopole filed in, not necessarily in that order, and found seats. After a few bites, Marnetti -- who was the first officer and navigator, put up a hand and signalled a waiter. The lad approached fearfully, appreciating the highlight of his day.”
Christina Engela, Space Sucks!

“Rosy cheeks will always stand out in a field of grey.”
Anthony T. Hincks

H.B.R. Patel
“That’s the problem of today’s generation. You want all the things quickly. You all hate to struggle. You see the life into two extremes, either success or failure, either rich or broke, either victory or defeat. You see the life in all black and white, but there are various shades of gray in-between two extremes of black and white and life happens to be there.”
H.B.R. Patel, VIKAS 2.7: Rebooting Development
