Beth Sniffs Books wrote: "Sooooooooo......... how did BEA go?!P.S. Was the Harry Potter paraphernalia at the Scholastic Books table? Getting the hype up for the forthcoming illustrated edition?"
Yes! We got some great pictures from that booth actually. They had some awesome replicas (like the chomping furry book). I still have to gather all my thoughts for some final blog posts but they shall be happening. I caught a nasty NYC cold/bug? and now have to drug myself up to get better. My mind is a little zombiesque right now.
Beth Sniffs Books wrote: "So sorry to hear that you have a major case of the cooties :( I hope you didn't get sick until after the conference was winding down. Did Ariana (?) get sick too :( Was Scholastic giving anythin..."
I think you have to register and then comment, but the registration should be pretty quick and easy.
It didn't hit me until the last day (so that was good) and Arianna is still in complete health :)
Giveaways? I didn't see anything when we went by that booth (twice) but I did see someone walking around with a pamphlet type of swag for the new design. The giveaways are always so random and hard to catch, unless you have your eye on something specific (which we did and we got many of the things we wanted). Overall the haul was smaller than last year but that was by choice. :)
Beth Sniffs Books wrote: "Definitely post your swag photos. I get the impression that the tote bags are highly coveted. Did you and Ariana manage to get one (from any booth) for yourselves? Here's to hoping that Arianna do..."
We used to be. Now we have our men and live over an hour and a half away :( Sad times. We see quite a bit of each other though.
Lots of totes... enough to grab a few (but less this year for some reason).

You must be getting excited :D"
Yes, very excited. I'm hoping to restrain myself this year, we shall see. I'm very excited for 100 Years of the Best American Short Stories, Armada, The Lost Landscape: A Writer's Coming of Age and City on Fire. We'll see how many of those I grab.
