I thought The Elements of Style was published in 1919?

True, Strunk published it in 1919. E.B. White then revised it for the 1959 ed. which became known informally as "Strunk and White." I would guess that the editions are substantially different, but I've never seen the original 1919 ed.
The copyright page says it was copyrighted "1959,1960". I don't know what that means. Something within the book was copyrighted 1959, but was it the entire book?Wiki says "In the U.S., where it was published 17 October 1960..."
It's interesting to see how many of these books became movies, many of which I've seen.
"The Baron in the Trees (Italian: Il barone rampante) is a 1957 novel by Italian writer Italo Calvino. Described as a conte philosophique[1] and a metaphor for independence, it tells the adventures of a boy who climbs up a tree to spend the rest of his life inhabiting an arboreal kingdom. Calvino published a new version of the novel in 1959." - wikipediaI have no idea how different the two versions of the novel are. On GR it's usually the case that later editions are combined with the earliest edition, so that all editions will have the same original date. Now whether an "edition" is the same as a "version," who can say.
I'm fine with you removing it, or I don't especially mind if it stays on, perhaps the person who voted it on was thinking of the 1959 version.
I see that Bettie voted it on. Maybe she knows more about the 1959 version and could explain how different it is?
