Please pick and vote on books from my Do Not Read Shelf

Shouldn't we judge a book by its cover?! Really?

And where is that much required Do Not Want to Read Bookshelf ? Why there is none? Is it because this website is called “ GoodReads ”?

(If you do not want to read it just don’t add it to your shelf then – my wife said.)

“And why the fuck did you bought and read more than 1700 books just for the sake of that Do Not Read list of yours?” - she yelled later that month out of nothing.

I was also not sure then.

But I do know now that we really must judge a book by its cover. I should have done it before, I agree. Anyways: Lesson learned my dear.

But it's not just the cover. It's either the subject, the title or the cover image. Or, sometimes, on those rare but blissful occasions, it's all that together. And, so, hells yes, always judge it by the cover.

In a very rushed, unsubstantiated and very prejudiced analysis... And, some may say, in a “childish and a very, very immature” way… This is the big list of books you should not read.

So… Let's NOT Explore Uranus . Let’s NOT enter The Enchanting World of Kitty Wigs . And please let’s NOT do all that while Focus on Cocaine and Crack .

Or, the hell with it, just don’t let me tell you what to do. Why would you? I spent more than $28 000 on this books just to prove a point. It’s ok though, she doesn’t know.

So… anyway, don’t listen to me. Just go for it: Check out and, (why not?) buy some of these books too! If you need just tell your spouse you borrow them from the library or something. Pro tip: Spend the next years getting rich selling them on Ebay for profit. Be patient though.

Go for it: Let yourself dive into the immersive metaverse of the List of Persons Whose Names Have Been Changed in Massachusetts. 1780-1883 and perhaps finally find out what the fuck Harpo’s Horrible Secret is.

And vote .

Which are your favorites, top (or bottom) shelf, not to read books?

Remember: Always judge a book by the cover and do not shop while drinking. Or basically just disconnect or ask someone to change the Wi-Fi password before or while you getting drunk. Oh and also don’t shop books while you’re driving. Specially, nobody can tell you this, do not drink and shop books while driving even if you can do so if cautiously.

But I digress… so many memories. The point is: Be careful when buying books. Always check the cover first.

Bon Tom Sorry, this is inane. Most of the time, covers don't mean jack shit. Some of the best books I've read practically had no cover at all, but were written with love and skill. And some of them are borderline, or complete masterpieces in their genre. And vice versa. On today's market you're more thank likely to stumble upon a nicely wrapped vomit without a (usable) substance.

I forgive you. Exclusively because you, obviously, did not read this list. So you take it quite literally: “Do not read”…
Irony is a dangerous thing. But lack of substance is even more.
Go on... see this list.
You will understand. I promise.

Edward Hackemer A travelogue for the Far East: Along the Yellow River from its headwaters to the Bohai Sea.
Author: Izzy Dunn

inciminci The Dancing With Cats book looks awesome 😆
I buy and read books for their covers all the time and sometimes even for their titles - here I voted the silly/bad title rather than cover.

Yeah, that's the spirit!! ;) Have fun.

Jazzy Lemon I flipped through that 50 Shades and thought, what drivel! It's written far too simply to be of any real literary value. I'm certainly not a prude, but I'm never reading that.

I certainly hope Izzy is Dunn !

Edward Hackemer I nominate another:
"The Scullery Maid's Scotch Drudgery"
