I just looked at the plot for The Bourne Identity (and spoiled the story for myself, but it's for a good cause :P) and I've come up with a list of things we can find in other books other than what Deanna has already mentioned.
The list includes:
The Mediterranean Sea
Zurich
New York
Travel to the USA
Swiss Bank
Medusa
A character getting nursed back to health
Vietnam War - officer during the war
Canadian or American characters
Character with named Marie, St. Jacques, Carlo, David, Cain, Alexander or Conklin
Hostage situation
Character finding clues to solve a puzzle
Characters fall in love
Character accused of being a traitor
Character framed for a crime
I hopes this helps and I'm sorry if anyone else was making a list. I probably missed some things. I had a look because I wanted to see how one of the books I'm reading would fit in. So far the only connection I have would be the falling in love or an American main character. They do travel around the USA for a bit, but they haven't travelled to the USA. I'll figure out a link somehow.

I got to where they are staying in a hotel or something. He told her that her mother is sick and then gave her some drug at dinner to knock her out. He's back at the hotel room, but she is more awake than he thought she would be. I had to stop there as it was very late and I needed to sleep. I plan to listen to a good chunk of what's left a little later today. The overall feel of the book is quite dark and disturbing, which I usually don't mind. I think the almost constant reminder from the narrator that Dolores is in fact still a child is almost a good thing as otherwise you could somewhat easily pretend that she is an adult and although he is still creepy and perverted, it wouldn't be as bad (still pretty bad though).
From what I remember The Secret Garden film is pretty faithful to the book, some slight differences, but nothing I can vividly remember. I believe they are making a new film as well, but who knows when that will be released now.
I have the Count of Monte Cristo to read, I may read that towards the end of the year if I can. I read Pride and Prejudice at the beginning of last year and I thought it was okay and I am glad I read it, but I don't think it will ever be one of my favourites. I just prefer something with a bit more action or adventure in it. I remember the word 'obliged' being used way too much.
The third book you mentioned, I don't think I've even heard of, but the title alone sounds very interesting.
I generally try and stick to things that have been on my to read list. I'm currently reading the Artemis Fowl books as I've had the first three for years (and I read them years ago), but didn't have the remaining books. I'm currently on book 5 out of 8 and the books are becoming a little of a struggle to read. Maybe the magic they had when I read them as a young teenage has worn off. I hope to finish the series this year.
I'm reading a few other books as well (I generally have several on the go at once) but this will be a very long post if I talk about them all.
My main task is to shrink my to read list, which is a lot of classics and series. I am also trying to read my physical books as I am planning to move to a different country later this year (hopefully) and moving over 100 books might prove challenging.

The Lost Colony which I am working on is also a three..."
Thanks Deanna, I knew it wasn't enough for a card, but I wasn't sure if it would be enough for the mini challenge. Pretty much every main character goes to France so if we can use it that way, that would be great. I know very little about the Bourne series as I have yet to read the books or watch the films. I'll try to do some research into it later.

The Lost Colony which I am working on is also a three word title and is listed as adventure. One of the main characters is French and they spend some time in France, but it isnt the only setting. If the book continues as it is, maybe about a third of the book would be set in France. Would that be enough or for the setting to count, would it have to be for almost the whole book?

I haven't actually started Gone with the Wind yet, I was planning to start it this month, but started Lolita instead. I will begin it once I've finished this book.
I have a hard time choosing favourites of anything so to choose my favourite classic is difficult. One I really liked was The Secret Garden, but maybe I was biased as I watched the film a lot when I was growing up.
What about your favourite classic so far? And what are you planning to read in the near future?

I just saw the mini challenge and that we would get extra points if one of us reads our assigned book which is The Bourne Identity. While I have been interested in reading it, I don't have a copy and it doesn't look like my library app has it either. I should be getting an Audible credit in the next couple of days, so I could use it for that book if no one else wants to read it.
I'm a bit jealous of some of the other group's books as some of them I have had on my to read list for years so it would have given me an insentive to actually crack on with them.

The other books I'm working are coming along too. I should finish one of them either tonight or tomorrow.

I didn't listen to any yesterday as I am close to finishing another book and it was more action packed which is what I was feeling last night. But I will get another hour or so done tonight. He is okay as a narrator, but it's almost like reading someones diary. It's interesting, but at the same time it feels a little wrong.
I have too many classics on my list, but ones that I have put down on my list that I would like to read this year include Bleak House, Jane Eyre, The Alchemyst, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Gone with the Wind (which is a year long buddy read in another group) and Catch-22. I probably won't get through them all but I am hoping to get a couple of those done. Of course I wouldn't object to getting any other classics off my to read list this year too.

I have not read that book. Is it a similar theme?

I have a few books on the go now and I should finish at least one of them in the next couple of days.

I'm definitely wiser now and although I was pretty mature back when I tried to read this the first time, I think a lot of the words would have gone over my head.
I am on a similar quest. I added A LOT of classics to my to read list when I joined Goodreads. I basically added every book I had heard of. Since most of them have been sitting on that list for almost 10 years, I've been slowly trying to get through them. I don't really follow a list, it's more about what interests me at the time and what I own a copy of/or can borrow that decides what I read. But buddy reads like this definitely help me not to put certain books off.

I had attempted to read this book maybe about 10 years ago after borrowing a copy from a friend. I think the wording was too much for me at the time and I also felt pressured to finishing it quickly so I could return it to her (I don't read well under pressure). I didn't get very far. I'm glad I am listening to an audiobook copy as that will help me actually finish it, whereas if I was reading an actual copy, I would maybe drag it out a long time. Until it gets interesting at least.

Audible says it has 10 chapters, so I will try to listen to a chapter every day.

If all goes well, I should finish

I have a doctor's appoinment around midday tomorrow which I plan to walk to and while walking I'm going to try and listen to the audiobook. I've never listened to a book while walking before. I'm hoping it will be a success as maybe that will encourage me to walk more.
