Thank you. My mood was because of lots of little things, I guess they all caught up to me. I'm feeling happier today and I'm really looking forward to starting this.

88432 I just finished my main book I was reading and now I have only a few shorter books to work on before UNO starts.

I've got a few audiobooks lined up on Audible and on my library app.
I've been having a tough couple of days mentally, and hopefully this will be the distraction I need. Maybe I'll find one of those gems that I love from the books I read.

88432 I'm becoming more in love with audiobooks. Up until about 2 years ago, I didn't see what the fuss was about, but then I began working in an environment where I could listen to things and it was better than just working in silence on my own. I also like to do lots of crafts so I can listen to audiobooks while I craft away.

I also love to read in the bath. It is probably the best part of my day. I will read a physical book in the bath as it would cost less to replace than something electronical if I did somehow accidentally drop it in the water.

88432 I can't wait until it is time for UNO to start! I've been putting off starting anything new unless it doesn't fit the criteria and therefore cannot be used for this, i.e it's too short. I've mostly been reading Shakespeare (or listening via audiobooks really) which is fine because I've always said I should read more of his work, but there is only so much Shakespeare I can take in one go.
A week feels like so far away right now.

Just felt like I needed to share that. I hope you are all well!

I've only read Angels and Demons and the Da Vinci Code, but I enjoyed them both. As Zoe said, they aren't the best written books out there but they are generally quite easy to read. I have the rest on my to read list.

88432 As I previously mentioned, I plan to read The Lost Colony (Artemis Fowl #5) by Eoin Colfer which works for 4 Red

I also have Dreamland by Sarah Dessen which works for 0 Blue (the only one on the list as far as I can tell) that I would like to read soon, but I can hold off from reading it if someone else wants to claim 0 Blue.

I have a list of some books with coloured covers that I can use and my library also has a pretty good app that I can look on if we need anything in particular.

I am learning Norwegian so I can hopefully communicate at least a little when I move, and I hear that there are some similarities with Icelandic? So eventually I may recognise a word or two. Either way, I would love to visit Iceland one day.

88432 @Sarah: I really enjoyed the Alice Network too, but I have yet to read Ready Player One.

@Lior: good luck with your history degree! I good my degree in history a few years ago :D

I compared books with you all last night and made a list (I do love a good list) and some of your ratings have pushed some books up my to read list. I got so excited to read a couple that I wanted to start straight away, but reminded myself they wouldn't count yet.
Until we start, I'm going to be fishing off a couple of books and probably just read some of the short books I have that wouldn't count for this.

88432 Hello everyone, I'm Keely and I'm from the UK. This will be my 3rd year of UNO. I'm currently working in retail, but my contract ends in the middle of Feb and because of tighter restrictions for retails stores coming into place soon, tomorrow might be the last day I actually go to work. So I should, in theory, have lots of time for this challenge. However, I am planning to move to Norway to live with my boyfriend. I hope to get out there as soon as possible to hopefully get things in place for the move, but as the UK is in lockdown, I can't travel and I don't know when I will be able to yet.
Even if I make it to Norway while this challenge is still going, I have plenty of books on my kindle and library app along with audiobooks too.

I mostly read fiction with the occasional non-fiction. I tend to enjoy something with a bit of mystery in it, but I will pretty much give anything a go. I've also been trying to read those classics that they say you should read at least once in your life.

Books I have read include:
The Harry Potter Series
The Hunger Games Triology
Divergent Triology
His Dark Materials Triology
The Book Thief
The Letter (I've enjoyed all the books I've read from this author so far)

I had a quick look at some of the books you have all read (I'm not a stalker, I promise) and there seemed to be books that all of you have read that I planned to read soon so hopefully most of the books I end up reading will be able to be used as reverse if we don't need them for anything else.

Books have planned to read for UNO:
The Lost Colony (Artemis Fowl #5) by Eoin Colfer which would at least work for Red 4 and I think at least one of you have read it.
I, Robot (Robot, #0.1) by Isaac Asimov Also a red cover but I haven't yet looked into the numbers I could work for.
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov doing a buddy read.
Artemis by Andy Weir

I have others on my little list, but I think I've bored you enough now.
I'm looking forward to playing with you!

p.s. feel free to add me as a friend :)

88432 I've put a book off until uno starts because it has a red cover. It was going to be the first book I started this year, but then uno was announced.
The Lost Colony (Artemis Fowl #5) by Eoin Colfer and then the next book in the series has a yellow cover Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox (Artemis Fowl, #6) by Eoin Colfer so I'll be saving those for now.

88432 Hello, I'm Keely from the UK.
I have played UNO for the past 2 years. I really enjoy playing however I haven't fully decided if I will join this year. I would really like to, but I am planning to move to Norway and I will hopefully be going there late February/early March (if I can travel) for at least a couple of months to get things sorted before the move is permanent. Anyway, because of this I may not be able to read as much as normal, but I will assess the situation in a couple of weeks when the signing up opens.

I will read most genres although anything with adventure or a bit of mystery and books that I really enjoy and can read quite quickly.
There isn't anything in particular that I desperately want to read, but I am looking forward to working on finishing a couple of series and even starting one or two.

88432 I'm happy to push it back too. I checked my library app and they don't have it on there. Ideally I would prefer a physical copy as I would remember to read it then, so if charity shops open again before we begin (most shops are closed at the moment where I am) I'll see if any local ones have a copy. If worse comes to worse, I'll use an audible credit.

88432 I still need to get a copy too. I kinda forgot. I'll try and look tonight to see if my library app has a copy.

88432 Le Petit, would you mind waiting until January for Lolita? I’ve got several books to finish this month so I’m not sure I will be able to focus on it before January. I’ll get a copy from audible if I need to.
Dec 03, 2020 10:33AM

88432 I tried to read Lolita maybe about 8 years ago. I may be tempted to give it another go now that I am older (and wiser?), but I would have to aquire a copy first.
I'm also working on reading classics, but I tend to listen to them as audiobooks as that somehow helps me focus more on the book.
Dec 03, 2020 10:29AM

88432 My goal this year was to read 365 books. I'm still on target to finish that goal (I read a lot of manga and some shorter books which has made that possible and I was able to listen to audiobooks a lot).
But next year I'm hoping to move country as well as get a new job so I'm probably going to go much less next year, maybe 200, at least to begin with and see how it goes.
I have a lot of classics on my to read list from when I joined so it would be nice to get some more of them read next year too.
88432 I have completed the survey.
May 01, 2020 10:49AM

88432 Yes, thank you everyone, I had a lot of fun and pushed myself to read more than I usually would thanks to the team!

I look forward to playing again with you all next year! ^_^
