88432 I'm am still working on the 0 Red and should have that finished next week.
I subscribed to Scribd and I finished an audiobook today that was the second book in a series I'd been wanting to continue and I'm hoping to finish the third book before the end of work today. I'll add the books to the spreadsheet later when I get on my laptop :)

88432 Thank you both. I will look into Scribd at the weekend when I have more time.
I started Bleak House today which is 37 hours long so it might take a couple of weeks to finish as I can probably only listen to a couple of hours at most a day before my brain starts to melt a little. But even if I don’t finish it in March, I’ll definitely finish it for the beginning of April. I plan to only listen to that at work. I’ll listen to more... interesting books outside of work :p

88432 I finished Forest but I’m not going to be able to get on my laptop tonight to update the spreadsheet. The characters are there it’s just adding the finish date if anyone wanted to go ahead and do that for me.

I’ve found out I can listen to things at work and tried with an audiobook today and I can successfully listen to it and get my work done! The only downside is that I’m not allowed to use my phone at my desk so I can only listen via the computer (maybe even a browser as I’m not sure if they would like me downloading things to the computer). Annoyingly, my local library app doesn’t let you listen through the browser. Audiable works but I only have a few long classics. Does anyone know a website where you can listen to audiobooks through the browser for free or even a subscription but you can listen to as much as you want? I find audiable a little pricey if you don’t have an offer.

88432 Oh no, we aren't having a good start to March with 3 of us being ill! I've had to have the last two days off work as I also have flu, but I am hoping to make it to work tomorrow.
Now that I am hopefully on the mend, I should be able to pick up the pace on some reading.

88432 I sure have read Harry Potter. It’s basically all I read as a young teenager :p

I haven’t read as much as I had hoped as I’ve not been very well. Got some sort of bug. I started a couple of audiobooks which shouldn’t take me long to finish. I may have to call in sick at work tomorrow as I’ve been unable to stop coughing and I don’t want to infect the whole office. I hope I’m well enough to go in, but if not I’ll use the time to rest and get some reading/ listening done.

88432 I started Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson #4) which the version I have has a red cover and would fit 0 (Zeus) or many others given the amount of characters. I’ll update the spreadsheet when I’m next on my laptop.

I might be coming down with a cold so might not feel like reading as much as I had planned, but that’s where audiobooks are great. I just need to remember not to finish any before the 1st :p

88432 Guess who finished The Horse and His Boy!!
Feb 26, 2020 10:00AM

88432 I’m probably gonna drop Generation A for now. I read a page or two this month just to get an idea, but I don’t think I care about it right now. But I do have a different red cover book that will probably cover the same thing.

I’ve reserved What happens in Vegas, but won’t have access to it till the 7th at the latest, but that will give me a chance to get other things finished.

I’m just going to do some other bits and bobs, then I’ll get on my laptop and update properly.

88432 I have a couple of audiobooks waiting with colour covers. I think I added them to the spreadsheet. I'll look properly later after work

88432 Okay, I'll save finishing the Essex book for March, especially as it has a yellow cover. Maybe I'll start something new on one if my ebook apps in my lunch break to make progress on and try and get ahead for March.
And don't worry, I haven't forgotten about The Horse and his Boy ;)
Feb 24, 2020 11:28AM

88432 Yeah, if someone finishes something for sharp before I finish the Essex book, I’ll hold off on finishing it as it could work for a yellow book, but for now I will carry on as intended.

88432 Congrats on becoming an Aunt, Alison!

And thank you Cat, my first day has gone really well so far. (now on lunch break)

In terms of finishing the books, I'm set to finish my two before the 1st. I should finish The Horse and his Boy by Wednesday and The Little Book of Essex might be a little closer to the end time, but I plan to read some in my lunch breaks and again before bed so hopefully I'll finish it pretty soon.

88432 I finished The Titan's Curse and the spreadsheet is updated.

I know it has been penciled in for 3 on the mini but it would also fit others including:
Touch
Sharp
Cold
Lady
White
Peaks
Moon
Electric

88432 I always find it harder to concentrate on reading if I've got a lot on my mind. Which is part of the reason why I read a lot of manga/graphic novels while I was at uni and had depression and anxiety. It found it easier with those because I didn't have to use my imagination as much because the visualisation was right there. I found it easier to immerse myself because of that.

More recently I've discovered a love of audiobooks which I also find easier to 'read' as opposed to the written word if I have a lot going on. This doesn't always work though as sometimes my mind wanders and I realised I haven't been listening to what the narrator has been saying.

If I'm feeling down, I find myself not wanting to do anything, but then feeling worse because I feel like I'm wasting time. In these instances, audiobooks can be useful because you can just lay there doing nothing but listening to it and feel like you are accomplishing something by 'reading' a book.

88432 Oh, damn. I forgot February is a shorter month D:

I have 8 chapters left of The Little book of Essex so if I read a chapter a day, that will be done in time, but I will try to read a couple of chapters each today and tomorrow.

The Titan's Curse I should finish Saturday if not before and then my focus will be on The Horse and His Boy.

I need reminding, for March's books, do they need to be started on the 1st March to count or do they count if they were started in February?
Feb 20, 2020 08:14AM

88432 Oh, I see! I am making progress on the book right now, but I still think it will take me a few more days to finish.
Feb 20, 2020 07:56AM

88432 I checked The Little Book of Essex for the word Sharp and there was the name Sharpe. Does the e on the end matter? If so then Lady has definitely come up or I can check for other words.
Feb 20, 2020 07:30AM

88432 I finished The Witches and the spreadsheet has been updated.
Feb 20, 2020 04:55AM

88432 I've not really enjoyed the Narnia books I've read so far, at least not as much as I had hoped. They feel a little dated to me, but maybe I'm just used to reading more modern books. I will continue them as I purchased them, but after The Horse and His Boy, I think I'll wait till after UNO to read the rest.

I am less than an hour away from finishing The Witches but I have a doctors appointment soon so it might have to wait till after for me to finish it, but it is definitely getting finished today
