88432 My family has an 18 year old black and white cat called Wilma, but we don't call her that. We call her Wiberly. I don't remember how it came to be what we call her, but that is what she knows her name as.

My boyfriend's family now has 3 cats. Pippi is the oldest. She is a Norwegian forest cat with ragdoll ansestry. The next one is Pompel, but me and my boyfriend are in the habit of just calling him 'the boi' because the family couldn't decide on a name for him for a while. And then there is Freya who we sometimes refer to as 'the girl' but that is becoming less. Freya is still technically a kitten but I believe she is almost fully grown now.

I miss his family's cats, especially Pippi because she loves to cuddle with me when I am there. My family cat has never been a lap cat, but she joins me on my bed in the mornings and shows her love in her own ways.

88432 Oh yes, I personally prefer to just add my read books to a spreadsheet, but I'm happy to go with what the group wants. Thank you for reminding me to answer that question, Audrey!

It's nice to meet everyone!

I've been to the US once. I went to Florida for Disneyworld and the other places around there. I would like to visit more places in the US one day and I would like to visit Canada one day too.

I also forgot to mention that I work strange hours. I work 2pm-10pm which means I will be online more late at night for the Europeans, but more in the afternoon/evening for those of you in the US.

I've not lived there, but I've been for a couple of 3 months visits. That's as long as I can stay without a visa. Once I'm more settled getting used to full time work again, I'm going to focus on learning Norwegian more which will help me get work to make the move.

I would love to visit Finland one day as it also looks beautiful!

I was very happy to learn that they don't mind us listening to stuff at work. They seem pretty relaxed as long as you get the work done. I wasn't sure if I would be able to listen to audiobooks while working when I signed up for this so that is why I kept my number lower.

88432 I'm on my laptop now. I've sent everyone a friend request now and my shelf is UNO-2022

I'm currently comparing all your books with mine for the Reverse cards. I've got quite a list now of books at least one of you have read and that I want to read. I won't have any problem covering some reverse cards during the challenge!

88432 Hello all!

I am Keely and I am from the UK although I am hoping to move to Norway to live with my boyfriend later this year.
This will be my third or fourth UNO (I lost track) and if my memory is correct, I don't think I've been on a team with any of you before. I'm sorry if I wrong about that.

I generally read a bit everything, but prefer books with a bit of adventure and/or mystery. This year I am trying to read as many book as I can that I added in 2012, which are mostly classics. But I am happy to find other books to fit certain cards or challenges.

I just started a new full time job which is temporary, but I should be there for the duration of the challenge. I am able to listen to audiobooks while I work, so it is likely that I will be able to read more than what I said but I won't be upset if we don't use all my books. I intend to read some longer books so I dont read too much more than what I said.

I'm currently on my phone so I will send friend requests when I get on my laptop, unless you beat me to it, and I will also post my shelf then too. I just couldn't wait to post!

88432 Thank you. I was thinking of doing that anyway. I have some longer books I would like to get off my TBR so if I am able to read more, I could focus more on longer books. Everybody wins that way. I'll sign up at some point over the next couple of days

88432 This will be my fourth? uno. Maybe third. I've lost count. Anyway, I have a quick question. I'm due to start a new job in the beginning of January and I might be able to listen to audiobooks while I work. If this ends up being the case then I would be able to read a lot more than otherwise. If I sign up now, can I change my predicted amount of books later if I put it here or contact a mod? Or would it be easier if I just waited till I'm more sure? I dont really want to risk forgetting to sign up amongst everything else, but I can leave myself a note somewhere or something.

88432 I've now finished all my books listed.

I've got a busy and potentially stressful day tomorrow so I don't think I'll have time to finish anything else after all.

88432 Nice! It looks like we have all the mini tasks covered.

I just finished Anne of Green Gables and I am determined to finish The Cuckoo's Calling tonight.

If I can also get a chunk of The Pull of the Stars done today, I may be able to find a shorter audiobook to use for a card we haven't done yet. I'll update on that tomorrow.

88432 I just realised my book The Pull of the Stars didn't have a mini task. The only one left it will work for is B8 - G with the character Groyne.

I'm going to try my best to finish one of two of my books today. I may be able to squeeze in another audiobook, but I will assess after today.

88432 I also listened to about half of Anne of Green Gables last night and would work for an M with the authors last name Montgomery. I just couldn't stop listening even when I should have gone to sleep.

88432 Just to update that I am on track to finish the books I have left on the spreadsheet. The Cuckoo's Calling might cut close to the end as I am struggling to be motivated to read it. I can only read maybe 20 pages at a time before getting fed up of it. That being said it is nearing the conclusion so hopefully it will pick up a bit. I am determined to finish it in time so if I have to sit there and read the last 150 pages in one go, so be it!

88432 I can read Emma for a book beginning with E. It's a bit on the longer side, but a book I've been meaning to read for a while. I'll try and listen to as much as I can over the next couple of days. *edit* After starting the book, the first word is "Emma" so it can work for 5* too with the first word beginning with E.

I also only have a little bit left of The Other Side of Dawn so I will make time to finish that today too.

The author, Adam Kay. It is about his time as a junior doctor and he talked about several Christmas periods. A couple of them were the late shifts.

88432 Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas by Adam Kay I will finish this soon and it will work for 23* 100-150 pages (144) or B20 Character who works late into the night.

88432 I am going to try and finish Fatherland by Robert Harris today. It will work for either 30* more than 450 pages (505 pages) or 33a MPG Mystery/Thriller.

The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1) by Robert Galbraith will work for a few. 12* Character who smokes - the main character Strike smokes all the time. B16* character who is a Detective - Strike. 33a MPG Mystery/Thriller. 38* Also a TV show which I was not aware of, but it is on the list.

The Other Side of Dawn (Tomorrow, #7) by John Marsden will work for 35a Young Adult.

88432 Two of the books I'm reading are over 500 pages. I should finish one today and I'm not sure what other tasks I will fit in with.

88432 I also picked up I, Robot (Robot, #0.1) by Isaac Asimov which would work for our last WD4 as it would work for 6 Red.

88432 I will finish The Watch Tower by Elizabeth Harrower soon and I am looking for ways for it to fit into the mini. For #22 where it says 'read a book with "boombox" in the text ("radio" will do as well)' do you think "wireless" would be allowed to work? It's just an older word for radio, or it that too old fashioned for this challenge?

Otherwise, it would work for #7 as the author's name is Elizabeth; #9 the two main characters start off in school; #B9 W for the title; #28 with 355 pages. All of these ones seem fairly easy to cover, but if it won't work for #22 then I would say to use it for either #7 or #9.
