88432 I think it is safe to say that I won't be finishing The Crowlands this month, which we was going to use for the mini task of a character moving so you can use your book Kaley. I've removed mine from the mini tab and moved the book from the Feb tab to the March one. Hopefully I will actually finish it in March.

88432 Oh, I didn't see the next page and I just saw 2 Blue has been claimed, in which case I will use a Wild Draw 4 for it, if that's okay.

Also, I could probably help with at least one yellow. I added a few to my tbr list last uno just in case and I've been reluctant to read them outside of uno.

88432 Please can I claim the 2 Blue? I've had The Testaments (The Handmaid's Tale, #2) by Margaret Atwood waiting to be read but it only works for a 2 so I was really hoping we were going to get a 2 Blue and we did!

88432 Thank you Kaley. That takes some of the pressure off. I'm still going to try and finish the book, but at least I can focus a bit more on the other two I need to finish this month.

88432 I may not finish the book I am reading for a character who moves in time. I try and read it before bed, but end up falling asleep before I get very far and this week is already turning out to be a stressful one.
I am still going to do my best to finish it before the end of the month, but if someone can read a replacement book just in case. Of course if you finish it before I finish mine, feel free to take to slot and if we dont need anymore books for this month by the time I come close to finishing it, then I will save the end until next month.

Yeah, I can hear Franklin kicking now. There was a heavy rain at little while ago and I've since seen some reports of local flooding. Hopefully this is the last storm and this one isn't as bad.

Storm Eunice was something. There was only 5 of us at work in my office on Friday when there are usually about 25. Most people get trains or buses into work and most of those were cancelled and uber and taxis were really busy.
I was off of work on Thursday due to illness so I didn't really want to miss another day of work if I didn't have to. I took the risk driving in and luckily the roads were fine, but it was a bit scary driving down the tree-line roads I have to go down to get to work.
Some of the damage done was crazy though.

Oh yeah, I forgot that goodreads added a different edition when I added it to my currently reading from my phone. I was the one on my uno shelf. I've changed to spreadsheet so it should be correct now. Sorry for the mix up.

88432 I don't really have much planned for the weekend. Just a relaxed one I think.

I finished The Alchemyst today and I'm making steady progress with the remaining three I have on the spreadsheet. I don't think I will finish any of them this weekend, but I will be finishing them soon.

I'm also having the problem where two of the books I am reading are very similar in theme so I'm getting a bit confused about which one is which. But one I get into reading them, I soon remember.

88432 I'm still reading my red book. It's slow going because I only really listen to it while I'm getting ready for bed and lately I've been very tired so I haven't been awake very long once I get into bed.
I should have more time to work on it over the weekend and hopefully finish it.

I'm on track to finish all of the books I have listed before the end of the month as well.

88432 I swear this happened during Uno last year too. Or maybe it was a different team challenge. Either way it's frustrating when it lasts several days, but at least I know it's not just me.

In Uno news, I finished Wind in the Willows. I'll update everything after work. I'm also currently about 40% done with The Alchemyst. I probably wont finish that one today, but maybe tomorrow.
Feb 13, 2022 06:36PM

88432 I have The Alchemyst and I was planning to start after I finished The Wind in the Willows. It has the MPG Urban Fantasy so I can cover that unless someone else had something in mind. It seems to have connections to Paris, which of course is a city so we can still use it for one of those tasks.
I'll add it to the spreadsheet, but I can move it if someone else wants to claim that task.

Also, is anyone else still having trouble with notifications? The only one I've had recently is someone liking a book update and that was 13 hours ago. I've not had anything from groups in a few days.
Feb 13, 2022 10:17AM

88432 Aw, that's a shame. Oh well, I'll move it now.
Feb 13, 2022 09:02AM

88432 I will be finishing The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame which I purposely didn't finish before so we can use it for the mini as it can cover a couple of tasks. I've listed it on the spreadsheet and the tasks it can cover.
Feb 11, 2022 03:36PM

88432 Okay, so I've been able to have a closer look and I am currently reading a book that is set in London so would be better for option A, but I am also reading one that is set in a small village so would work for option B.
The books I have been reading lately seem to have some connection to a city so if I had to choose, I would say option A. But I could easily find books for option B if people prefer that one.
Feb 11, 2022 04:22AM

88432 I didnt look too closely last night as I was pretty tired and my brain was struggling. I did purposely start reading a book with an interior room on the cover before bed though, so I can cover that task, but I'm sure the book will work for other tasks too.

I'll look more closely at the A and B options later, maybe in my work break or if not after work. I'll let you know my preference then.

88432 I couldn't see one for the abridged version, but I didn't look too hard. The premise was interesting, but I did think it seemed very rushed and now I know why. It seems a shame to carry on with the abridged version when the full version probably has much more detail, especially as it was a crime/mystery book.
I don't really want to carry on with the abridged version, but I do now know that I would like to read/listen to the unabridged version one day so the time wasn't really wasted.

88432 I finally finished Jane Eyre today.

I did begin another book earlier as well but when I went to add it to my list, I noticed that Goodreads says the book has around 400 pages and the audiobook was only 6 hours long. I then looked closer at the details of the audiobook and saw it was an abridged version. I immmediately stopped listening because it felt like I would be cheating if I said I had read it. I only got about half an hour listened to so it wasn't a big loss.

I'm probably going to start my red book tonight.
Feb 07, 2022 05:32AM

88432 Thank you, Kaley. I woke up today feeling pretty good. I should finish two books today now. I started a shorter audiobook to listen to while I was getting ready for bed last night and ended up listening to about half of it. I will probably finish the other half tonight. It is a children's book but I've added the word count and link to the arbookfinder page to the spreadsheet. The audiobook was close to 4 hours but I'm using my library app so I just figured the word count would be easiest to use.

88432 The weather in the UK is still mild and nothing to really talk about unlike most of you.

I had my booster vaccine (3rd dose) on Friday which was a different brand that the ones I had had previously. It left me with a really bad headache and I also began feeling a bit feverish about halfway through work so I left early. Unfortunetly because of the headache I didn't feel like listening to anything so I still haven't finished my first book for this challenge. I am feeling better now, although not 100% but I did a lot last week so I think I burnt myself out at bit. I intend to go to work tomorrow unless I feel terrible when I wake up. Either way, I want to get Jane Eyre finished tomorrow and then I can begin my red book.
