I am from the UK but I currently work night shifts so when I filled in the form I suggested being put in a team with a different time zone to my own as I will be most active during the night so when most of you are awake.
I work for a large chain hotel. My job title is Night Receptionist but I basically do a bit of everything and it is mostly cleaning. I work with one other person on shift for safety and we generally get our tasks done pretty quick so unless we have guests needing anything or have been ask to do any extra stuff, we have quite a bit of spare time during shift. This is when I hope to get some reading done.
I put my book count as lower than I did in previous years because I am currently covering a colleagues hours as he swapped to day shifts so until we hire someone else, I will be working full time.
I'm regards to reading. I will read pretty much any genre. I prefer things with a bit of mystery or adventure to them but I will still read others. I'm usually pretty at finding books to fit tasks if we need it.
I have been more into audiobooks these past couple of years, but I have about 600 books on my kindle waiting to be read so I am trying to work on some of those this year. I've also been working through classic books so you will probably see me reading a couple of those too.
I'm looking forward to playing with you all!

That said, I'm excited for when the teams get announced!

I'm also glad there is over a month as it means I can read shorter books now and get my yearly challenge done and then in January I can get some short books off my TBR list and get a good start to the year.

I'll finish Robin Hood first and if no one else claims the spot, I'll go ahead and read the Oz book.

I will finish the other two books I have claimed first, but it is a back up if no one else want's to read a book from team names list.
Alternatively I could read the next Sherlock Holmes book. Sherlock plays the violin so hopefully it would be mentioned in the next book.

I was off work again today. My throat is really sore and I keep coughing now so I didn't think they would appreciate me coughing everywhere. It has meant I'm further ahead in my reading than I thought I would be. I finished my yellow book today and I'll get about halfway through the Sherlock book before I go to bed. Even if I do make it to work tomorrow, I should still be able to finish the Sherlock book.
This means I might be able to do one more fairly short book after I've read Robin Hood so unless there is anything really obvious now that we need covered, I will assess what we need when it comes to it.

On the up side, it has meant that I have been able to listen to about a third of my yellow book so by the end of the day hopefully I will be in the later part of the book if not finish it.
I had planned to read Robin Hood next, but I've just seen how short the first Sherlock Holmes book is so maybe I will get that done first. I assumed it would be a much longer book.
I'm confident I can read both books by the end of the month now.

I've never really mastered listening to audiobook while driving. When I tried I felt like they were taking too much of my focus away from the driving so I didn't feel safe. Also I enjoy having a good solo concert when I'm on a longer drive :P
And I agree that long drives are very exhausting. I think maybe it's because you are having to pay attention the whole time. And I find it quite stressful if I don't really know the area I am going to.
I hope you enjoyed your weekend away though Kaley.

I had a very busy couple of days so I was unable to do much reading, but today and tomorrow will be relaxed days especially as I seem to have caught a cold that everyone else has had. I've already finished my blue book today and next I will work on finishing What Happened to Goodbye which I only have a couple of hours left of and maybe I will also finish Anne of Avonlea.
Ideally I would like to finish those and my yellow book by the end of tomorrow and then I can begin The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood and work on that during the week.
If everything goes to plan (knowing my luck it probably won't), I might be able to read a Sherlock Holmes book for the mini too.

Thank you Lisa. I really would like to read the book I have for the yellow as it would complete a series, but now it seems like other books I have are more useful. Can we assess again after the weekend? I'm too tired to think much right now and I have a busy weekend coming up, but hopefully I will still have time to make some decent reading progress.
If I remember rightly, my yellow will fit several other cards (non-coloured) so maybe it would be wiser to swap it out anyway, but again, I am way too tired right now to think that much.
Also my work seem adament about not letting us use anything, but I am probably going to only be there a few more weeks because we are moving, but that will be after uno ends.

The mini is a bit easier than the previous one, IMHO. As Kaley said, the tasks that we would need to plan in mo..."
I can maybe do another. The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood and the Sherlock Holmes sereis I have on Audible. It's a shame I finished Rebecca so early in the month.
I won't commit to any more books now as I still have quite a few I have claimed and have't yet finished (or even started in some cases), but if we get desperate I do my best to read some more.

Oh that's even better if I can just use the chapter. I won't have to pause everytime I hear a food or something else relevent to make a note of the time!
