I've been thinking about rereading it. I loved it.

I really liked this one - it wasn't his best work, but he has such an amazing talent, I'm always thrilled when I see he's published another book.

I finished this morning - loved it!!!!

Ditto what Tanya said. Please don't let us be part of your worries. We will be good. If we end up plugging away on old bee books for a month, there certainly are lots to choose from!!!! Don't forget to take care of you while your taking care of everyone else.

It's hard to believe the same author wrote Mudbound. I liked this story much better.

I couldn't help it!!!! :)

Ok, I couldn't put this down. It felt to me like there was collaboration with SK...at the very least he uses a lot of the same themes and has plenty of references to his Dad's work...and love how he named a character after his mom. So, I'm a fan of this one. I did not like Horns though...

Alison got it for me for the bee exchange, so it's on my own shelves. :)

Well Tricia, I didn't like it, which means you'll love it, right???

No internet here since 1/1/14. My phone is not great for much activity here. I have been reading and doing some journaling. I miss my Bees though.

We have teams this year to make the number less daunting. Very few of us made it to 100, but it's fun for us to try. :)

Hey new bees! There is also a challenge group for our group called The Hive. I think it's a hidden group, but if you want in Tanya is the moderator. :)

Kindle Daily Deals has
and other books by Joe Hill for $1.99 - there is also the Strain Series by Guillermo del Toro posted. My husband (the non-reader) read and enjoyed that series last year.

Kasia's surgery went well, and her recovery has been amazing. So happy for my little girl. We go back for follow up on the 3rd, today we are 1 week and 1 day post op - she still gets a little sore, but there was no horrible "my baby is in pain!!!" days. Thanks for checking in.

Bag of bones is how I hooked Adonica!

Starting old school do The Eye of the Dragon. That was the one he wrote for his daughter when she hated his books.
Otherwise, Duma Key or Bag of Bones are amazing works.

Awesome! Welcome Gail! I think you will fit right in. :)

I remember seeing the movie years ago, and I didn't want to read the book because I didn't care for the film. However, that was many moons ago, and I'm glad I picked this one up.
A Widow for One Year is still my favorite Irving that I've read (so far) but this one does come in second. I really liked how this progressed, the character development and how the story arches over decades. In this age, it is so crazy to think of an orphanage like this - where there are babies just left…
I don't understand how there can be a movie without Melony. She's such a part of the story, and a counter to Homer at St. Cloud.
