Let me know if it does. I'm reading a few from net galley this weekend, so I've got time for it to show up!

No, not yet. I can buy it too.

Well, if it's populated by books, then that's ok.

Diane - do you have a galley? It doesn't look like it's been published yet. Love Irving!

According to Sandford's last Prey book, there's not!

My city has recently announced that a Book World store is coming to the mall - it's been a long time since we've gotten a new bookstore. Anyone familiar with this chain?

I was mad about that store - it's in Traverse City, where my friend lives. It's ridiculous to offer a refund.
And I have it 5 stars because of the way that it shows how Scout ties herself to Atticus. I thought it was fascinating.

I bought it and really did like it. I went in with small expectations because I read all the press before it's release. I still love Atticus and Scout. TKAM is miles better, but this was thought provoking too.

I read The One and only Ivan today. I think Kasia will enjoy it too.

I think it deserves all of the accolades. I want to send a thank you letter to the author. There are so few examples of imperfect lives being written with such grace, beauty and hope. It's just indescribably good.

She is her own creature. Without limits, with strength, suffering and a lot of love she's able to evolve into the being her family has been struggling towards - one who is equally at home in the sky and on the earth.

This is one of my favorite books too - I've recommended it to many people. Russell is on my list of favorite authors.

I really liked this book - I thought that the family dynamic was interesting, and loved the magical aspects of the book. I loved the ending!

I want it!!! It's not at my library though.

I'm at 70% through now - which is pretty much one day's reading - and it's on track to be a 4 star so far.
I am addicted - I explained it to my mom as a cross between
Rebecca and
The Secret Garden which clearly intrigued her.
There is a lot of description in here - too much IMO. I want more story and less detail sometimes.
I'm excited to finish. Morton is sort of a guilty pleasure for me. I'm not a full-fledged fan, there's too many threads for me to feel she's super invested in one story, but it does make for an addictive read.

******I am not fancy and haven't learned the spoiler trick***********

So, if you're still here, the point halfway thru where Jude cuts his wrists, I actually feel sorry for him that he doesn't succeed and want them just to let him go. He feels so much pain and so broken I feel it's horrible to keep him living and suffering.
I too work in a field where I see the worst the world can throw at people and it's awful, but it also allows me a perspective that not everyone has (which is OK, cuz it's fairly depressing at times)
I LOVE this book. I think everyone brave enough should read it and understand that with the exception of all the guys really making it big - it's so real. People endure unthinkable realities and remain utterly beautiful, broken humans.

ND - and perhaps the fact that I was around age 11?

stones from the river is what I based my graduate study on and I actually met Ursula Hegi, and took a class from her at my University's Writer's Conference.
She was a remarkable lady. She even gave me her phone number and personal email. She was very deprecating, and had some reservations with the Oprah tag - this was the late 90's into 2000'sm and Oprah's sway was loosing some power.
Would love to know what others think,
