749599 I love Asil πŸ˜ƒ i'm glad we have him.

Just finished chapter 4. And yep, definitely enjoying this more than Mercy. Also, is it just me because this is "new" but is this better written than the Mercy books? Like, it has more descriptions, and a nicer flow while Mercy is a bit.. well bonier comes to mind.
749599 Thank you πŸ˜ƒ

I started the book, and I'm not that far in, maybe 20 pages, but I feel more enthusiasm for this which could be because it's not a Mercy book πŸ˜‚ I also, unsurprisingly, don't remember a thing that happened so Briggs' recaps are going to be welcome.
749599 oh no πŸ™ˆ I forgot this starts now.. which is not surprising because this week I don't know the days. I probably won't be starting it today or tomorrow, because of Easter things are busy and because of work I'm tired. But Sunday and Monday I have off days, so I'll read then.

I was thinking the same the last time I was looking at the books we have yet to read, a change will do us good.
749599 Half a month after the group read ended I managed to finish the book. Yay for me.

If it hasn't been a group read I wouldn't have picked it up, thankfully someone nominated it and people voted and here am I. It was a cute book, and a light read even with the heavy topic. Things happening in such a short time would've irked me if I registered it, but it feels like it takes some time for all the things to happen so I'm just going to go with that in my head.
749599 I finally managed to pick up the book again, and I'm loving it. It's fast paced and it's written in a easy flowing way that I love; it just hooks you up to read just a little bit more every time you finish a chapter.

I like that both of them have some heavy things in their pasts, they are not perfect and they are owning it even though they are not proud of those things.

So, far I'm just waiting how things will unwind.. and I'm waiting for a betrayal. Because we get to follow the story from both perspectives we know Ransom is just setting bait with Ana, however SHE doesn't know that (at least not by the chapter I'm at, which is ch18) so I expect some heavy feeling of betrayal because she's forgetting from time to time what he was doing before he was locked up.
749599 Yes, the stick.. I forgot to mention it. I was curious what will happen with it, and thought maybe there'll be a story line with it and its corruption but... it resolved pretty quickly. Unless, it'll play some part in later books.

Mhm, let's do Fair Game next weekend and then hit pause while Spring Fling is happening. Because maybe it won't fit for a task, but also like I said I'm getting a bit bored with the same old same old so the pause should help.
749599 β€œYou should take him to Disneyland,” suggested Gordon. β€œOr I could. I like Disneyland.”

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Way later after the battle and when Coyote appeared at Adam's I found out Gordon was one of the spirits/gods or whatever they are.. which also makes the sentence up much funnier.

I finished it, and I liked that it was "fresh". The pack members and other cast are good, but I'm not gonna lie I'm getting a little bored with reading about same people. So it was nice to follow only Mercy and Adam on a new adventure, and to find out more about Mercy's heritage.
749599 Hm.. So far she only dreamed of the teacher, so I'll see if adding more will confuse me.. but mostly the new native characters are confusing me πŸ˜‚

yep.. her heritage is very confusing πŸ˜…
749599 I'll listen to chapter 9 and be done for today.

* I'm very confused with all the new people appearing, and for a second I was annoyed that I can't remember who is who, and with whom they are in relations.. but then I remembered that I don't remember the pack members so I guess that's okay.

* Mercy's talk with the Coyote also confused me.. So is he kinda her father?
It's because of him that she has the ghost seeing ability, and being immune to most of magic stuff.
749599 I'm just dropping in to say that I love this BR. It's such a nice discussion, and I'm just enjoying the fact that I know the things that'll happen while I reading your thoughts.
749599 I didn't make any real progress, read only chapter 3. But I have to say I'm interested in her vision. Since we are told that I assume and also hope there'll be more about it.
749599 Okay, good I'm not the only one, I was really shocked with the marriage and I think that's something like that I would remember. I mean still, it's possible it was said and I forgot it because oh, okay Mercy is ending up with Adam.. but on the other hand them being mates is what was more shown and told to us.

Also, I forgot to say, but I saw it again and I have to comment. They've known each other for 10 years??? What? That sounds like too much time. If it was said 5 years I would buy it but 10 sounds too much. Especially taking in consideration that the books we read happened in the span of 3 years tops.

I haven't picked up the book yesterday because I was listening to Blood Heir, but today is Mercy day.. although I picked it up late so I don't know how much I'll be reading because I have get up early.
749599 Would like to be in a team as always. As for the number of books πŸ˜… Last year I read 74 books, but this year so far I read 52 books HOWEVER I started working a few days ago AND I got hooked to kdramas so that definitely will slow down my reading.

749599 Yes, kdramas are much more fun than books this past week or so.

Chapter 1: Yes, poor Stefan, hopefully he'll recover more. Yeah, the bad movie nights are so cool, I like that and that she has friends to have traditions like this.

Chapter 2: πŸ™ˆ I don't remember the marriage thing.. Like how? I was surprised with it when she mentioned it and her mother's dove/pigeon/butterfly plan.

yeah, it was nice that all was good.. which is also a tad concerning because something bad must happen next.
749599 Okay, good πŸ˜‚ I haven't started it either, but hopefully later. I toned a bit my reading because I got hooked to kdramas, plus I started working so it'll probably take me longer to read it than usual.
749599 Here to report that I too started the book.. later than I planned and thought I would but it's still happening. And it's also good that the actual BR isn't done because, honestly, I don't know when or even if I would've picked up the book.. the cover with the girl on it? I dislike it SO much. I know that it shouldn't be the reason not to pick up the book but... I'm sure I'm not the only one that avoids a book because she finds the cover ugly.

First chapter thoughts.
This sounds and looks like one of those easy and fast reading books. Great. Also, it reminds me A LOT of Grishaverse books, and I think that may be because of the Russian/Russian sounding words and I think I connect that with those books.

P.S. I like this BR discussion :D there's real discussion, or at least there are long comments, and I love it. I haven't read anything because I didn't want to spoil myself with anything.. I haven't even read the synopsis.. at least it wasn't this year, so everything is a surprise.

749599 Finally picked this up. I only read the first 4 chapters, but so far I like the vibe it's giving, although the audio narrator sounds young which makes sense, but I may not like that much..
