Miss you all! It's cold here (70's) and about as wintry as it gets. Rainy & windy. I just finished The Strain today. It was excellent!! Yes, it was a leftover Halloween book, but still excellent. Still working on The Ghost at the Table. It is very good, but sad. I've been signing up for waaayy to many challenges because I'm still having WOBBLE withdrawals.

Laila Jane wrote: "Just checking in, I'm still here too!"Hi Laila Jane! How's married life?
Is anyone still playing? I totally forgot about this till I saw another team's post, so I thought I'd check in now that we're done with WOBBLE.
Laura wrote: "Here is my list of books I borrowed from the huge central library!! Woot, woot, I can't wait to read them!."HA! I just checked, and I have 80 books borrowed from the library! WOBBLE habits are hard to break! Lucky we have no limits...
I'm reading The Princess Bride as a buddy read. I have The Thanksgiving Visitor, The Ghost at the Table and The Pumpkin Muffin Murder for Thanksgiving and am starting to line up the Christmas books already. What is everybody else reading?
Nanci wrote: "That's a shame that you missed out on your book discussion, Lauri. Hope you get some more good books to read at the library! I started a buddy read yesterday on[book:Furiously Happy: A Funny Book A..."Loved that book, Nanci! It made me laugh and cry. Not too many books can do that for me... I've only recently discovered buddy reads and I really enjoy them. You get to discuss a common book with someone you don't have to explain everything to AND you get to make a new friend at the same time...
Well, I started in March of this year and so far have read NONE of my original 10 TBR! What a lackluster performance. I have read others, but none from my list...On a happier note, I am about to start on Eat Pray Love and actually have Zipporah in my possession. So that's something at least, isn't it?
Laura wrote: "I'm still reading Tana French's Trespasser! I picked up a bunch of books today from a huge library in the city! When I get back home tomorrow night I'll try to post all the books I borrowed! I love..."You GO, girl! I accomplished my plan for the most part. I got thrown a curve yesterday. I learned that one of my groups was going to have a book discussion today for a book that I had won in a giveaway. So I had till 1pm today to finish it! Well, I finished with an hour to spare. It was a great story Everything We Keep, but when I logged into the discussion at 1:12, it had been all over for over 1 hour. I was not a happy camper! I did manage to finish a pretty good mystery and Cinder, which was awesome... It's library day again tomorrow! :) I miss chatting with you all!
Just started the Miss Julia series and I love it! I've been meaning to read it for years... What-all are you ladies reading/up to now? 3-day weekend coming up. Planning to read in bed till my back hurts! Hey, it's a goal...
TWD was a total surprise this week. Negan is a sociopath. I enjoyed last week's episode more. Could the king be courting our Carol?
Maritza wrote: "We live in a Democratic society of free will. He is my new president and I will support him. Those who didnt exercise their right to vote should not complain."That's what I always say, too, Maritza. I didn't vote this year after a lifetime of voting! I won't complain -- much! I'm honestly shocked at the outcome. I guess having a penis won out over good sense. I was afraid of that. Hawaii only has 2 electoral votes and we always hear the results before we've even voted. I hear Canada is beautiful... :)
Aloha nui to our outstanding captain, Laura! Also Nanci & Amanda -- thanks for putting up with my constant questions and general weirdness. I had so much fun with WOBBLE and with you all! Got to learn a lot & read a lot of books outside my comfort zone and discovered some great new series, too. The best part was meeting all of you and making new friends. I'm sure we'll run into each other on GR. Feel free to message me anytime if you just want to chat. TWD rocks!! :)
Margaret wrote: "It is hard to pick a favorite, maybe this one? or towers? Yes, a little bittersweet and I am ending the challenge with a book that I haven't read since I was a teenager, or maybe young adult and I ..."I liked my first round of Around the World a lot. Enjoyed various Bingo games, but this was really my most favorite. I'm just going to finish out my personal challenges for the rest of the year & work on som BOMs & buddy reads. Looking forward to reading whatever catches my fancy now, but I'm already missing everyone...
Margaret wrote: "Oh I finished my #7 book in a series, how fun to read an oldie but goodie for my last book in the challenge.....really, truly bittersweet! Thank you everyone for being such wonderful teammates! Yay..."I've been thinking of revisiting the Little House books! Have you read Caddie Woodlawn? Loved that when I was little, too.
