I'm almost done with Witch Hunt -- should finish by tomorrow for the non-profit task.
I can still read Fire in the Blood for the translated into English task because I have it already... Let me know!
Going to the Big Island (Hawaii) on Saturday for a family party. I'll be back home on Tuesday. Gotta plan out all my reading so I don't run out of books!!

Hi, ladies! I finished The Graveyard Book and it was awesome!! I hope there's a sequel...
I went to the library this afternoon and I found a book with a garden on the cover (2 actually!) and a book that was translated into English. I have Death in the Orchid Garden, Harvest Of Murder & Fire in the Blood. I can start any of them immediately. Please let me know which I should read...

That being said, I'd like to claim the non profit category with Witch Hunt. The MC is a public librarian in Iowa.

It wasn't your typical slave story. We rarely even consider the white slaves. That poor little girl didn't know where she stood in the world! You wonder how many stories like that there really must be...
Completion post!Salt to the Sea
Ruta Sepetys
Finished 9/17/16

5 stars!
How it fits: Labor 1-the Fantasy. Lure the troll with fish. Read a book with its main setting on the water.
Maritime disaster. The characters are aboard a German ship that is torpedoed and sunk during wartime.
I finished my water book Salt to the Sea! It was so gone, I just had to cry.... Off to add it to the read thread now...
I worked for a law library years ago. Universities & law firms would request rare books/documents from us on microfiche which we charged for. We were considered a non-profit although we were all paid employees. Same situation when I worked for a Catholic school -- and we charged tuition! I always wondered what exactly non-profit meant. Is it the tax status or other criteria?
Hypothetical question: would being a librarian for a public library qualify as working for a non-profit?

I totally agree with Margaret! I'm really enjoying Labors.
Just wanted to say that I am enjoying my 2 books immensely! They're both very unusual and take a bit of getting used to, but seem to be quick reads and are very interesting...
How's everybody else doing out there?
For my next Labor, may I choose #10 - The Paranormal : Consider the Past. Read a book with a ghost.I'd like to read The Graveyard Book

Finished Bake Sale Murder for Labor 4 - The Mystery. Search long and hard. It's #13 in the Lucy Stone series!
I'll finish Top O' the Mournin' tonight before bed...
I'd like to claim Labor 1 - The Fantasy. Lure the Troll with Fish. Main setting is on the water by reading Salt to the Sea
Will that work?
I was wondering if I should switch my book Top O' the Mournin' from Labor 4 The Mystery - Find Sherlock (mystery) to Labor 6 The Horror - Play in the Hedge because it has a tree sculpted into a skull on the cover - topiary style. Please use it wherever you think it's most needed.

Love this series! Ms. Neal really does a good job with local Hawaiian culture, too...

Lol, I knew you would finish!! Now you are all set for the upcoming sea..."
You'd be surprised, Cecily! Sometimes they follow the graphic novels, sometimes they don't. You can never guess what's next and the actors are all sworn to secrecy. If you watch the Talking Dead after the new episodes, it serves to feed the frenzy. Glen is my favorite character, so I really hope they don't kill him off. I feel Eugene is most expendable... My son is hoping for Carl.... :)
