How it fits: Labor 9-The Young Adult. Read a book where someone works for a non-profit. MC Ophelia is a librarian at the Summerset, Iowa public library.
I finished Witch Hunt for the non profit task! I'm well into Death in the Orchid Garden for the garden on cover task, too!
Would you like me to read Fire in the Blood for the Babel fish bonus? It looks like a quick read & I'm going to read it at some point anyway. If not, I'll just read some vacation books....
Let me know, please!
I'm almost done with Witch Hunt -- should finish by tomorrow for the non-profit task.
I can still read Fire in the Blood for the translated into English task because I have it already... Let me know!
Going to the Big Island (Hawaii) on Saturday for a family party. I'll be back home on Tuesday. Gotta plan out all my reading so I don't run out of books!!

Hi, ladies! I finished The Graveyard Book and it was awesome!! I hope there's a sequel...
I went to the library this afternoon and I found a book with a garden on the cover (2 actually!) and a book that was translated into English. I have Death in the Orchid Garden, Harvest Of Murder & Fire in the Blood. I can start any of them immediately. Please let me know which I should read...

That being said, I'd like to claim the non profit category with Witch Hunt. The MC is a public librarian in Iowa.

It wasn't your typical slave story. We rarely even consider the white slaves. That poor little girl didn't know where she stood in the world! 5 stars!
How it fits: Labor 1-the Fantasy. Lure the troll with fish. Read a book with its main setting on the water.
Maritime disaster. The characters are aboard a German ship that is torpedoed and sunk during wartime.
I finished my water book Salt to the Sea! It was so gone, I just had to cry.... Off to add it to the read thread now...
I worked for a law library years ago. Universities & law firms would request rare books/documents from us on microfiche which we charged for. We were considered a non-profit although we were all paid employees. Same situation when I worked for a Catholic school -- and we charged tuition! I always wondered what exactly non-profit meant. Is it the tax status or other criteria?
Hypothetical question: would being a librarian for a public library qualify as working for a non-profit?

I totally agree with Margaret! I'm really enjoying Labors.
Just wanted to say that I am enjoying my 2 books immensely! They're both very unusual and take a bit of getting used to, but seem to be quick reads and are very interesting...
