Very quiet, indeed. Slogging through Baudolino, doing piles of laundry and trying not to be tempted by mysteries, and zombie & vampire books! Almost finished with Mrs. Jeffries Forges Ahead!

Both were excellent, but complex! And Pillars can be used as a weapon. Do NOT read it in bed, you could break your own nose...

I read it for my RL book club. I don't think I would have tackled it on my own. Same goes for The Pillars of the Earth. Yeah we sure had some overachievers back then...

Ok. Bummer! I'd forgotten how much I like Hannah Swenson mysteries! I'm already assigning myself reading segments in Baudolino! I got quite a few others in the works. Hopefully some will fit our unclaimed boxes...

Good for you, Jennifer! Although I did enjoy GoT #1, I found it so complicated, I had to go back and re-read a lot of times, or look at the houses & sigils lists! I started Clast twice, but never finished!

Hi, gang! WOBBLE is awesome, but so all-consuming! I haven't forgotten about you, really! What are we all reading? I've been going totally nuts lately! It goes something like this:

I really wish I could, Margaret. We live in rental units that don't allow pets. :(
If I could, I'd have 2 dogs and 2 cats so they could keep each other company and just generally wreak havoc! I grew up surrounded with all kinds of animals -- bunnies, pigeons, fish, frogs, mice plus dogs & cats. I really miss that & I'm sad my son has never had a pet. We get our fix by visiting friends with animals & going to pet stores. We have therapy dogs at the hospital where I work, so I can always visit them. It's so hard to find a rental here, we don't dare violate our rental agreement.

Have a great time, Nanci! You deserve it. I think all teachers should go straight to heaven! I subbed for 1 year & taught 1st grade Sunday school for 4 straight years. That was more than enough for me! Love the idea of your tradition

She's just adorable! I soooo want a puppy! Haven't had a pet in over 25 years!
