Ok. I tried a new book on the spreadsheet. I think I got it right - - except for the 1st letter part. Please check it out…. Sorry to be a pain!
I’m so sorry, I wasn’t able to finish Ashen Winter for round 1. I did add a book Faux Paw to the spreadsheet. I could still cover the A in the spellout with a CFN Abigail.I’m somehow not getting the Letter Ref or Mini Ref numbers… where do we find those? I may be used to the game, but this is only my 2nd time utilizing the spreadsheet! Could someone please check to make sure I did it correctly? Thank you!
I’m here! I’m here!! Sorry! I haven’t been feeling too well and work is just kicking my butt! I’m reading all over the place, but not finishing much. I’ll try to do better, I promise!
Okey dokey! I’ve got a couple books on the spreadsheet… Hope I did it right. Wasn’t quite sure where to get the letter Ref from….Please let me know if I can fix that or anything else.
Aloha from Hawaii! I’m Lauri & I’ve played in a few Wheelathons before & lots of other group challenges. Guess I’m addicted! I have a few chunksters waiting to go plus a bunch of shorter books I need for some other challenges… Can’t wait to play!
Thanks so much to all my teammies and an especial shout out to our great Captains! You were just fabulous! I had a good time with this, my favorite challenge of them all! I really enjoyed all my books, but my absolute favorite was Agatha Arch Is Afraid of Everything!! That book was just batshit crazy! I highly recommend it!
Although it was good, Imperial Woman was a total slog! It just had such teeny tiny print and was so wordy, I had a hard time finishing it. Oddly enough, it’s the book I’m most proud of finishing! Probably because it was on my TBR for sooo long…

Oh NO! How did THAT happen? I actually just did finish a book just now… Am I out, or should I keep going??
I FINALLY finishedImperial Woman! Very interesting, but such a slog!! I should never have lead with this one! Teeny tiny print, deep historical subject matter….About to finish a light silly rom com!

I’m baaaack! Had a great time in California, but 1 day at Universal Studios + 3 days in a row at Disney nearly killed me! My motto used to be « you can sleep when you’re dead, » but I’m getting too old for this nonstop action!! Everything hurts, my blisters have blisters & I can fall asleep standing up!I did manage to finish one book & just now logged it on the spreadsheet
Behold the Dreamers was an excellent book, but a bit deep. I can’t fathom moving to a new and alien country because I want a better life for myself and my children! It was almost like an alien way of life. Of course, I knew nothing about Cameroon other that its being in Africa. I can barely fathom New York, which is where the MC moved. I felt like I learned a lot.
I am still struggling with Imperial Woman, but am bound and determined to finish! I have chosen only ‘brain candy’ books to bring on my trip. My guilty pleasure is the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich! I’m reading the latest one, Now or Never first!
Sorry for my uninspiring round one showing! That whole work thing really just sucks the life right out of you…I’ve been busy running around doing last minute tasks before our trip. (Okay, mostly going to the library every other day to return STACKS of books!) We leave Thursday for 2 weeks for a family reunion in California. Not exactly sure how much reading will actually get done, but I’m bringing 4 real live books & scads more on my tablet! I will follow our group thread whenever I get the chance. I’m so excited! I haven’t been out of state since 2023!!!
And, YES, this new cheese-on-a-stick looks awesome! Did someone mention garlic sauce? Why doesn’t it melt when they grill it? Hmm…
I LOVE Geraldine Brooks! I will read anything she writes! I think I gave every single one of her books 5 stars.Imperial Woman is giving me some problems. I am enjoying it, but it has the teeny-tiniest print ever! Sorry it’s taking me forever. I only have about 100 pages left…
I’m alive, I promise! Sorry I haven’t been checking in too often. Lots of crazy work & family stuff going on here. I have been diligently reading, but not finishing much. My brain is just so scattered! I’m almost finished with my Cameroon book Behold the Dreamers. Still working on Imperial Woman & Dreamer's Pool, too.I’ve also found a book for Nigeria Dream Count and one for Singapore The Paper Bark Tree Mystery

I can cover #40 character gains independence! Just listed it in tracking…
Melindam wrote: "Lauri,Thanks. Could it work for character tasting sth for the first time or is there a K character option for spell-out?"
MC Lucky did taste a number of new soup recipes for the 1st time because they had to improvise once their chef was arrested for murder!
Too much of a stretch?
