Aloha! I’m Lauri from Hawaii & I’m ready to play! I am a serial book starter especially on Saturdays! I am a mood reader & always have several books going simultaneously. I don’t really know why that is! My favorite genre is historical fiction followed closely by romance , chick lit & mysteries. I will try anything, just about! I find I’m losing my capacity for epic fantasy, although I quite enjoyed when I was younger. Too involved and confusing!
Hopefully at least some of you will stay up late with me to chat. I often find myself alone even in a big group because of the time difference…

Dude! I’d be happy to get my TBR under 10,000! Even if I live to be 100, I’ll never finish! And yet, I’m compelled to keep adding more & more! Why??

I was crushed to learn that antidisestablishmentarianism is no longer the longest word in English! I’ve been spouting (and spelling!) that fun fact since I was little. Now it’s some drug that I forget the name of…. I always wanted a shirt with that on it, and now I’m too late! *sigh*

I’m baaaaccckkk! Had a wonderful time this weekend! We went to see American Idol Iam Tongi in concert at Oahu’s Blaisdell Center. He was fabulous! I’m so glad we got to see him live. Runner-up Megan Danielle opened & he had some local special guests perform.
After we stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for 2 nights. So beautiful and relaxing.

DQs: Day 2, Chap 7 - 11


5. We learn Hera and Persephone are both sentient cats. My cats love lying next to me and staring at my computer screen (when they’re not stomping all over my keyboard), so I can picture a cat using a computer vividly. What mischief would your pets come up with if they were sentient? Even if you don’t have pets, what mayhem do you think could happen?
I imagine they would totally orchestrate every detail of my life (secretly) - - in essence, making ME the pet, and them the overlords…HEY! Book plot idea!

6. Charlie seems to be surprisingly chill about going along with everything happening, from sentient animals to attempts on his life to being whisked away to the Caribbean. Does that make sense to you, with how his life was before the book started? How would you react if you found out your uncle was a supervillain?
I would absolutely be freaking out! He just seems to go along with everything!

7. Although travelling there was a bit of a hassle, St. Genevieve sounds like a pretty sweet place to be. Where would your ideal villain (sorry, process disruptor) lair be set?
I always fancied those James Bond movies. The whole Jenny theme is also pretty funny.

8. We got a list of more or less exciting options including sharks, so: what is Charlie going to decide? How is Jacobs going to “die”? Or might his death end up being a real one after all?
Dunno, really. Maybe the dolphins will decide?

Bonus question: The (soon to be striking) dolphins have, uhm, quite the vocabulary. Any favorite insults? Do you want to give coming up with some creative insults a shot yourself?
Nah. They are hilarious though. I like anything with a good f#@! In it, really!
