35559 I finished the religion book, so that card is ready to go, I think.

Tomorrow I'll read my weird word book, and then see what needs finishing -- maybe a vampire book to finish the weird word card or a GOODREADS choice award book or work on the Triangle book.

35559 If I click on "Add a book" on the link in the Currently Reading feed section of the goodreads home page and then search through the pop up, it adds a new book instead of changing a book marked as "Want to Read" to "Currently Reading." That's how most of my duplicate books got added, until I started always searching the book directly instead of using that hotlink.

35559 We're going to need at least three more #4's (I hope), so if someone else finishes one there are spots for it.

We're officially at Warrior Level 6 now! Tough Team Tapirs!

35559 We've got the XP to reach experience level 6. From there we need 80 more points to get to level 7.

Our current plan is to alternate XP level and weapon level, so we'll finish up the next weapon level, then back to getting XP.

Our current cards would give us 35 (minus the 3 we need to level up). I'm hoping we get some monsters again for more fast XP. We're close to finishing one 10 pointer, and the other one is straightforward (if lengthy). Go Tapirs!

35559 I finished my religious book too! That means we level up, and are supposed to get our weapon level up next, which means that number 7 book. So Sheila, can you put another 7 book on your list? Than we can steal all the prime numbers and submit that as well. You have convinced me that we need more cards :-)

Carmen, Moonlight and Paula, you guys have the other books for Weapon Level 9. Carmen, I know you are reading that thousand pager -- do you want someone to pick up your book series # 4? Or do you like having something to switch around with? Moonlight and Paula, are you enjoying your books for #8 and #9? Speak now if you want to dump them!

I will put my weird word book on top of my nightstand and go to sleep.

35559 I'm putting this here again so we don't have to hunt back pages:

35559 I'm a little hesitant to pull from the next weapon level; that will be of use before the PRIME card. I don't mind grabbing from levels 10 and 11, and also it's fairly easy to find third and even fifth books; series with seven are a bit thinner on the ground.

We don't have any other #7s to replace it.

I don't remember the PRIME card being that hard last time around -- didn't we have extras (which have been used elsewhere)?

35559 How about if anyone else reads an E before we finish that card they bump you back to Weapon Level 12, but in the meantime you leave it on the spell-it-out card?

35559 OK, strategy rethink, because we got that lovely run of monsters. Now we can level up with 4 points of XP. I'm going to switch to my religious book (I found a shorter one, about a priest), and when I finish it, assuming Sheila finishes her John Puller book, we'll level up and be all healed.

So we turn our attention back to our weapon level 9, where we only need 3 more books. Carmen, Moonlight and Paula, are you all good there?

Power to the Tapirs! No Plush Zombie can stop us!

35559 Sheila wrote: "I certainly think the indian theme at chimney rock would work for that but have no idea how to word that for submission."

I filled in the SS for you (so check it -- beware my curse!) with "The place is an important theme (fire threatens ancient ritual spot)" as reason it fits.

A book club book for me is all about a young girl figuring out how to live the life she wants, so I'm putting that in for "Acceptability - the quality or state of meeting one's needs adequately" -- that's basically the theme of the book -- meeting one's needs both physically and emotionally.

35559 Sheila, It looks like all the action takes place in one big area, with conditions changing as the fire zaps around. The setting looks like a big part of the plot, and the sense of history in that setting as well. Do you think that would work for

Ubiety - the quality or state of being in a place?

35559 Strategy talk here -- The Idioms challenge is 7 points, and we'll get that as soon as the spreadsheet aligns and all the boxes are ticked. Both Cards 21 and 22 are ten points; finishing one of those will get us to the next XP level. So we should concentrate on one -- I suggest Card 21 (the weird word one) because we already have 3/7 books and the other one needs 9 books.

Any other ideas for ways to fill that card?

Anyway, we want to get 17 points, and then we'll go look at the weapons page again, which I think has been cooking nicely.

I'm also hoping that we get a monster when we turn in the idiom card, because we don't mind getting hurt (as long as we don't die) since we are so close to leveling up and getting a full heal. In fact, I warn our captains to be chintzy with the heal potions during a fight, remembering that we always hit first and we only need 1 hit point at the end. Of course, it's better to waste heal potions than to miscount and die! Expiring is very inconvenient.

35559 Rachael Ray's book has an introduction and then discusses each recipe before presenting it -- where she got the idea, why it works, how cute her husband is while eating it, etc. That's why I like her books -- they are similar to her show where you get some of her personality and love of cooking while she presents the food.

And I'm reading the recipes, so I think we are OK.

35559 I finished the religious item book, and I think I'll read the Rachael Ray recipe book for the new card -- the whole point of her book is to make things acceptable to your mouth. I was brainstorming for ideas for the rest of that card:

CARD 1

Read a book where the plot, a main character, or other large aspect of the book reflects the words definition.

Tasks:
•Ubiety - the quality or state of being in a place: travel book? book about somebody trying to get somewhere, or being stuck in their home town?
•Perpetuity - the state or quality of lasting forever: a romance where someone finds True Love?
•Palatability - the property of being acceptable to the mouth: cook book!
•Acceptability - the quality or state of meeting one's needs adequately: wilderness survival story? any survival story?
•Isotropic - having a physical property that has the same value when measured in different directions
•Uniformity - always the same, as in character or degree; unvarying: a series where the main character doesn't change (Agatha Christie book, for ex.), or a book about identical twins (someone should read a Sweet Valley high book for a two-fer!)
•Adaptability - capable of being adapted: book where someone is ingenious, or becomes a shapeshifter

35559 Um, I thought I snuck the info for Plethora's book way off on the side when I bumped her spot, but I can't seem to find it. I've marked mine as wobble and done if we want to use it in the meantime.

My spreadsheet curse strikes again! Sorry...

35559 Plethora, mine was the first in the series, so if we make it to level a zillion we can use it there. You can use yours. I had to read mine for a book club, so it wasn't wasted time :-)

35559 I found Here Lies the Librarian by Richard Peck and there's a cross in the background of the cemetery, so that should work for religious symbol. I'll read that first, and then see what is up.

It's up to Carmen. I am avoiding classics and giant books, so I can't help there, but Rachael Ray is fun to read and recipe books are quick, especially if I'm not hunting for ideas for dinner.
