Good golly, we are still going! OK, let me go wobblize anything I've been reading. Thank goodness I checked back in for old times sake! Yay Team Tapirs!
This was my first team challenge and I had an incredibly amount of fun, and probably spent a bit too much time reading. I really liked reading just-in-time books, or finding books that met crazy requirements, and I liked that I knew other people were reading around me.I'm so lucky that I got the Tapirs for my first team -- you were all so encouraging and pleasant and fun.
Nancy, you read over 50 books during Wobble -- that is nothing to sneeze at! Remember that some of us are retired, so we have more time for our books. Or for sleeping in after staying up too late reading books :-) I never had any sense that any of us weren't pulling their weight.
I'm about ten minutes from finishing a book if we need another potion. It's only a 300 page one though.
I went over to the official spreadsheet to watch our progress in real time. So far we are stocking up on potions.I'm looking forward to an exciting battle while I finish my next book.
The official countdown timer says only 10 hours left. I think it's the official one. I'd better get back to my (last?) book!http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/...
I haven't run the numbers, but if it's possible, we might try throwing everything at Thriller Zombie and using the rewards to go after the other guys. I'm not sure we can scrape up enough health, though. We should definitely calculate it before we try, because dying would be annoying.Otherwise, we can just grind up from the bottom to the top. Going from the top down means getting the good rewards to use on the little guys.
So, we have 676 XP points. Next level is 825, or about 150 points. We are currently poisoned, so we should maybe fix that. I say maybe because some of the monsters poison us anyway, so why bother?
This is what we can fight:
Boss 5 Correction Fluid:
500 Health 10 Attack 10% Greater Poison
Rewards: 100 XP points 3 Shield potions 20 gold.
Low attack, but lots of health; at our base attack it will take 24 attacks. We'll probably poison him, so 21 attacks. And the captain might use some greater damage and such, depending on how many bosses they plan to fight. We'd need a lot of health potions to stay above 20 hit points (for safety -- 10 attack plus the poison).
OR
Boss 7 The Cliffhanger 300 Health 15 Attack Each hit does either Poison/Greater Poison/Nothing
Rewards: 125 XP 4 Shield potions 25 gold.
A less healthy beast, this one will only take about 13 hits (maybe fewer, with a damage potion or two). But it hits harder, and the chance for poison is great. Again, a bunch of health potions, and a few Cure Poisons as well.
Neither of those bosses will level us on their own, but the two of them would put us a large step towards the level afterwards.
And then there are:
Boss 9 Walker Zombie 300 Health 30 Attack
Rewards: 125 XP, 4 Greater Heal 20 gold
Again, about 13 hits with poison, but it attacks even harder. We'll probably be breaking out more damage potions and greater damages here.
Boss 10 Thriller Zombie: 500 Health 60Hit.
Rewards: 250 XP 2 shield, 2 greater heals, 2 great damage, 2 greater poisons 50 gold
The Big Boss. We want to have lots of potions and Greater Damage for this one.
Sheila, Carmen finished it she just forgot to update the SS. We've been hitting for 21 points since at least the last fight. Go Carmen!BB Haywood's
has food and drink on the cover; it was a fast read.
Maybe poison stays until you cure it, even if you kill the beast? It's been poison us through all the little monsters, ick.The rules don't come out and say you are supposed to be cured when you level up or kill the poisoner. I had assumed you are cured by leveling up, but they don't say that either.
I've got one or two books I can finish today for gold. And then exchange for potions, which are worth more. It looks like we'll need lots of potions the defeat the final bosses, but we should be able to get at least one or two more. Cards aren't worth much XP now that we are superhigh level (preen).
I'm working on the J book -- I thought I'd have time to read at the auto shop today but a chatty neighbor was in the waiting room. But I shall persevere tonight.
And, obviously, we should use the book Milon bonuses, the duplicate book one and the freebie of any goodreads book. Let's not be sitting on those at the end of the weekend!
