35559 Ang, I like reading books all over the world -- I'd be up for an AMMP-elocity team.

35559 Finished my ALPHA book so that card is done. Sorry it took so long -- I had to leave town for a funeral right at the New Year.

I'm starting to load up on my challenges for 2017 now :-)

35559 OK, I'll work on the Alpha book tomorrow; if I finish that we get a new card. And maybe I'll look for that herb lady mystery series to see if it matches up with one of my missing states -- two for one is good reading.

35559 I finished a book club pick, 61 Hours which is 14th in a series but no turmeric (My club picked it to give me my South Dakota book). Also I notice that if I read Alpha we'll finish a card so I'll push that up my priority list.

35559 I ignored all my reading responsibilities and read another Daisy Dalrymple book, and it ended up fitting perfectly for the last "finds something" spot for the thief card. The doctor finds the blackmailer's money stash, complicating the murder plot.

35559 That sounds like great fun, Ang! I just bought myself a cookie jar shaped like the death star. It looks good on the counter but boy does it hold a lot of cookies. The kids approve!

There is a challenge on goodreads but I just saw it; I've been doing it from Bookjourney.net for a few years now (and she didn't even actually run it this year because of a tragedy in her family).

And ever since the year I barricaded myself in my room between Christmas and New Years to finish eight books I've decided to let myself not finish some years. :-) It's just a fun way to track my reading. I keep a google map and try to drop a spot for what I read, unless it doesn't really have a setting or takes place off Earth somewhere:

35559 Well done, Captains! Should we all just read a bunch of books for gold so we can heal up, while we keep an eye out for the missing books? (Tumeric, hmm, Plethora you are right that looks better!).

I have some books for the single letter and the greek letter, but I'm still drowning in challenge books. I need to read my North and South Dakota books and find books for Arkansas, Utah, Idaho, Iowa, Delaware and New Hampshire for my 50 States Challenge. I think this will be a year when I don't make it all the way around the US.

35559 I added a #14 to the weapon sheet, although we haven't finished #13 yet. I should go read some earlier series books. The problem is that all my challenges are coming due, so I keep trying to find things that do double duty, and the cards aren't cooperating...

35559 I still can't find that Cross book that is somewhere on my shelves, and I don't like anything the library has to offer, sorry.

I've got a preposition book for the Literature Department card, though. And a Greek Letter book, a single letter in title book, and can probably work with homophones and conjunctions.

And idioms are not a problem!

35559 Woot -- We leveled up! 75 hit points, baby. 175 points to level up, which is one Walker Zombie and a Great Novel Dragon, or a lot of quests.

Are we in the middle of fighting the Walker Zombie? No wonder we were hurting!

35559 I did finish a cross in title! Cross Your Heart, which also gave me an Oklahoma book for my states challenge.

35559 I'm a completist, so I'm into finishing, at least until we get all the Boss Monsters, and I'd be open to being pointed at other missed goals. Or I can just hope you see everyone on another challenge someday.

Is there something wrong with the clothing challenges? And I guess we have to find official healing words for the healing challenge? There's one bunny monster we can probably do right now.

35559 OK, I finished Heirs of the Body (Daisy Dalrymple, #21) by Carola Dunn which has a cute outfit on the cover, so I put it down for one of the books with clothes, but mostly because I wasn't sure where we are listing our banked books. Or should I go back to the TAPIRS READ BOOKS conversation?

35559 Finished it! Cross Your Heart wraps up its card.

I will finish a book with clothes on the cover in an hour or so, although it's hard to believe that none of the other books in the banked section would work. Are you all reading books about nudists? :-)

35559 I'll finish the Cross book today, I promise! I fell into a food coma from leftovers yesterday and only got half-way.

35559 I finished Gunpowder Plot which I put down as #15 on the weapon page, but the cover also has four women in various fashionable dresses and some guys and young men also in upper-class ware. Should I move it over to the queen-clothes quest?

I'm not sure how easy it is to find #15s, but then I'm not sure we're going to try to get our weapon up that high. We haven't gotten too far on level 14.

35559 Happy Thanksgiving to all! I'm making the turkey and my sister manages all of the sides, so I'm clearly getting the better deal.

Also, I brine it, so it spends hours soaking while I sit around and read and claim to be "cooking" :-)

35559 I feel bad that my word doesn't work, because it's truly used as a healing word. It's not a squirrelly sneak in -- I know I had to do some creative thinking on the bingo squares to get something, but when I read this book and saw that card they felt like they were meant to be. I mean, I could find a book with the word "blood" in the title" but it wouldn't be meant in a healing way.

Maybe we can say it's a word for blood, because it also refers to a blood test?
Positively

35559 I just finished Positively by Courtney Sheinmel which is about a girl living with HIV dealing with the death of her mom (from AIDS), and she goes to Camp Positive to learn to be more accepting.

Positively would be a healing word, I think.
