I just made my teenaged boys listen to the last two chapters of my cowboy romance book Once a Rancher as I drove them back from the city so that is finished as well (a mountain book).

So a teacher!
I finished my #3 for the weapon. Ang, should I find a number four or are you looking forward to Magicians of Capriona? I'm guessing these are rereads but the order doesn't matter for most of the Crestomanci books.
Where should I read next? I thought we were dropping the repeat Bones card, so I moved my Dragon Bones to Card 38 (the one with 12 XP). I have to go drive on errands, so I'll try to finish my audio with mountains in the background and then come back to see if I should work on Card 38 or help out with the Weapon book -- I'm sure I can find a #4 (or a 7, but I think Carmen said she was almost done) . I mean, I own Magicians of Capriona.
Oh, and I just realized I've completely forgotten about TAPIRS READ books and have just been updating on the spreadsheet. Should I go back and catch up in that discussion?

Good job, Captains! And we should level up with the next card completed (4XP to go) and then take down another boss!

Ang, no rush. And both books have idioms there there's spots waiting for them on the card sheet as well.

Boss 9 is also doable, and would take us directly from Level 8 to Level 9. Then we see how our weapon level is.
Wow, this is getting exciting!

I'm also reading A Gentleman's Position, which obviously has an idiom in it (the title is a pun!) but it is also the third in a series, and I know we'll be looking back at Weapon Level 10 soon. Ang, you've got Witch Week in there and I can't imagine that taking long, but if you are getting tired of DWJ (HA! unlikely, I say) I could put my book there.

Oh well, it will be more points at the end. Somebody should look at the rules to see if it is actually better to buy cheap potions. If potions cost 2 gold and give 5 points, it's better to have the potion than the gold (2 gold = 4 points):
(from the rules):
Points
◈ 30 Points per Weapon Level
◈ 45 Points per Hero Level
◈ 2 Point per Gold Remaining
◈ 5 Points per Potion Remaining
◈ 30 Points per Tournament Knockout
Jack and Jill's Store
◈ Minor Heal Potion - 2 Gold
◈ Heal Potion - 3 Gold
◈ Cure Poison - 2 Gold
◈ Damage Potion - 2 Gold
◈ Poison Potion - 5 Gold

Can I use it for the gold cover spot on card 32? I haven't been reading it quickly because it doesn't fit anywhere (I think I have it down for Series #1 for weapon 15 or something) but if I worked at it I could finish today or tomorrow morning.

I love when I learn something that I never knew was there to be learned. It's like extra-shiny information.

I think they were pulled from various books of short stories, so I guess I'm out of luck.

I blame humanity.

For example, I have paperback The Legend of Eli Monpress, which is over 1000 pages. It has the first three Eli Monpress books. Can I use that for a giant book? (Actually, I can't, because I got the ebook of the first book and read that earlier, but the point is the same.)
Can I read just part of it -- could I read the 2nd book from that one? Or would i have to check the same words out of the library on their own? Are the rules different for ebooks and for paper books?
If someone understands this and can explain it, that would be great, but don't spend any time looking it up because I'm not currently testing any of these limits. I just realized I didn't understand the rules.

I think I'm the one who usually forgets the page number, so it's a reasonable assumption...

Tapirs: 45 hit points
Pain Giant: 50 hit points
Tapirs hit for 19!
Pain Giant at 31
Pain Giant hits for 15
Tapirs at 30
Tapir hits for 19!
Pain Giant at 12
Pain Giant hits for 15
Tapirs at 15
Tapirs hit for 19!
Pain Giant Dies
Leaving us at 15, but we can just stay there until we get another monster because at the rate we've been going we might level up first.
Does my math look good?

Mine was the Title! No page number.
