35559 I am attempting to put our names and shelves into message #5 for easy reference, and it will also tell me which members I should go officially welcome so they know where we are chatting.

Avid reader, I'm probably blind but I didn't recognize your shelf name. And I notice that none of you have insane currently-reading counts like I do.

35559 I have to ask my kids for more details about how the Sith got their revenge; all the prequel movies are a bit of a blur.

I'm excited to be on another team challenge, and I'm a first-time captain. My goal to prepare for the challenge is to finish some of the 30 or so books I currently have open, or at least to admit that I don't intend to read them and clear the out...

35559 We're mostly dark, I see. (I see Rogue 1 is classified as "light" but I think I disagree, given the body count.) Hmm...

35559 Marvelous March Challenge

Level: Luck of the Irish (8+ books)
Progress: 11/8 (plus one manga)

◄ March is Irish American Month. Read a book that takes place in Ireland, or was written by an Irish author. (Nope)

◄ March is Women’s History Month.
Read a book by a new to you female author, Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race, Margot Lee Shetterly 3/31/17
or a book with a strong female lead. In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson, Betty Bao Lord 3/13/17

◄ March is said to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb. Read a book that starts out strong and wimps out to the end, Douglas: Lord of Heartache, Grace Burrowes 3/23/17

◄ The flower of March is the daffodil. Read a book that has a predominately yellow or white cover, Simply Irresistible, Jill Shalvis 3/3/17

◄ March was named for Mars, the Roman god of war. Read a book set in space, Castaway Odyssey, Eric Flint & Ryk E. Spoor 3/13/17

◄ March: to walk in a military manner with a regular measured tread. Read a book where a character is very determined with moving towards their goal or a book with a character in the military.Strands of Sorrow , John Ringo 3/5/17 (works for both, actually)

◄ March splits Pisces and Aries for zodiac signs. Read the first book in a series.1632, Eric Flint 3/13/17

◄ March Madness is the college basketball tournament performed each Spring in the US. Read a book featuring a sports team or someone who plays a sport. A Season of Daring Greatly, Ellen Emerson White 3/30/17

◄ March 2nd is Old Stuff Day. This is a day to try something new, break out of your routine, make a change! Read a book from a new genre or author. Break out of your reading rut! The Three-Body Problem, Cixin Liu, 3/25/17 (new author, new to Chinese SF)

◄ March 9th is Panic Day. Rather than freak out, read a book that calms you down!
Space Hostages, Sophia McDougal 3/17/17

◄ March 12th is Girl Scout Day. Read a book with cookies in the title or on the cover, or read a book about a group of girls or a where a character does community service. Nope! I mean, I could put Hidden Figures here instead of doubling up on Women's History, but I like it better there.

◄ March 14th is Pi Day, a day that celebrates Pi, the number that never ends. It’s often abbreviated to 3.14. This year is ultimate Pi Day because the first 5 numbers of Pi are 3.1415 which corresponds to this date. It’s also Albert Einstein’s birthday. Read a book featuring a mathematician or bakery. Silence Fallen, Patricia Briggs 3/17/17
(finds refuge in a werewolf bakery)

◄ March 17th is Saint Patrick’s Day. Alternatively, read a book where the main cover color is green or has alcohol on it. Black Butler, Vol. 5 (Black Butler, #5) by Yana Toboso , Black Butler 5, Yana Toboso 3/25/17 (graphic novel, probably too short but it was all I found)

◄ March 20th is the first day of Spring in the United States. Spring represents ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth. Read a book where the main character undergoes a transformation of some kind The Salt Roads, Nalo Hopkinson 3/28/17 (spirit grows among her humans)

◄ March 29th is National Smoke and Mirrors Day. Read a book where the main character is hiding something. The Course of Empire, Eric Flint, K.D. Wentworth 3/28/31

35559 I think I found a book with two "d's in the title: Dragon Blood. It is amazing how hard to find that was. I'll have it read by the end of the week.

Or are we letting this go? We got most of the bosses.

35559 If we start in USA, that's us packing while we wait for the random people to suggest a place to go. The three tasks are:

➻1. Read a book set in The USA

➻2. Read a book where someone moves or visits The United States

➻3. Read a book written by an author from the United States

So those shouldn't be hard. Anyone got the move or visit book?

35559 I'm not sure I have a ship. I think I forgot to get one.

Oh, Carmen, I just finished a book under 200 pages for a school club, so I grabbed one of your spots for the latest quest. And my other book was all about a horse trainer, but Erin got there first :-)

Either works for me. Are we allowed to start with two and add a third? And do you want to pick the destinations or go with Random?
