35559 I am currently reading The Wonder. I like it so far. I've still been reading a lot catching up on books that I wanted to read during WOBBLE. A really cool event happened for me the other day. My RL book group got to have lunch and meet with author John Hart for over 3 hours! Just the six of us! It was amazing. Such a nice down to earth guy. He doesn't really meet with book groups, but agreed to meet with us as someone in my book group has a mutual friend. This guy hangs out monthly with John Grisholm and David Balducci since they're all in the same area of Charlottesville, VA. While their genre is not my favorite it was still really cool to get to talk to a NY Times best seller about his writing process, etc. I thought his most recent book, Redemption Road was actually pretty good. If you like murder, mystery you might want to check him out.

35559 Hi Charlie and team! That is so sweet, Charlie. Hope you're adjusting to your new home. Moving can be very stressful. I miss our daily communication too. They should have a support group after these long challenges end! ;). I did a buddy read with two others and we're going to start a new book soon, but it's. it the same as our group. Merry Christmas and Happy Channaka to all!

35559 At one point, towards the end, we were in 16th place, but not sure of our final place.

I just completed my 100th book for the year! My goal was 75 and last year I read 60, so I'm very excited. I know I owe it in large part to the WOBBLE challenge. I was flying through the books some weeks trying to help the team as much as I could. It's been nice to slow down some and now no more pressure to make it to 100. :)

Eew, I wouldn't like to pick a book apart either, Margaret. Some constructive criticism would be ok, but I'm hoping to talk about the parts we liked...especially since it's humor. Yes, it will be fun to get to know some more online "friends".

35559 That's a shame that you missed out on your book discussion, Lauri. Hope you get some more good books to read at the library! I started a buddy read yesterday onFuriously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things. I've never done a Buddy Read before, so looking forward to it!

35559 I agree with Maritza. He was not my choice, but I believe as citizens of the United States it is our duty to stand together united in love for our country. I believe at this time, more than ever, we must show love and respect to one another regardless of our political beliefs.

For the Goodreads Awards, I'm hoping Glory Over Everything wins for historical fiction. My favorite book this year!

35559 Yay for you, Maritza on your new healthy routine! I'm glad you're feeling more motivated. Smart not to focus on the numbers on the scale. Those numbers will lessen in time. The important thing is to enjoy the movement. Walking is still one of the best activities a person can do. Sounds like you've got that down!!

35559 I agree with Margaret. Bittersweet indeed. Thanks for some great recommendations, teamies and another shout out for Captain Laura, who kept us straight especially during this last game. Hope to see your names on future challenges!

35559 What are some other challenges that you all have participated in and enjoyed? I've only done UNO, Around the World, Battleship, and of course WOBBLE. I want a break for a month or so, but then would be interested in another group challenge.

Oh Yay! I was sad that I wasn't contributing any more. I'll try to get one more book read before the deadline.
