4 stars-this is the second book I've read by this author and have given them both 4stars. She is a very solid writer with good storylines.

It was really good! You'll enjoy it. (Don't want to spoil it for you.)"

OMGosh, Chris! We need to PM each other about the movie. I went with a friend today and we were trying to figure it out at the end. Neither one of us read the book, but we read the synopsis and the ending was a bit different than the movie. I'm curious to know what you thought. We both thought it was very good and the scenery was gorgeous, just had questions about the ending.

4 stars. I have a new author I love. Really enjoyed ..."

So glad you liked her. I have read many of her books over the years. She's one of my favorite too. I'm also stingy with my stars! Ha! La Rose was probably one of my least favorite of hers (3stars), so you're in for a treat with many of her others!
35559 26. Joe hid the things he took from Beck in a hole in the wall. He didn't plaster over that hole and must have known that Beck might find the stuff inside. Do you think he might have wanted her to find the creepy memorabilia? Do you think Beck overreacted when she found his stash and confronted him?

Let me start by stating that I don't know how to hide spoilers, so I'll try not to give anything big away, but if you haven't finished the book, please don't read my answers.
I don't think Beck wanted her to find his hidden things. I think he thought he would be able to control all that and take care of it when he was ready to bring her to his apartment. I do not think Beck overreacted at all. It's normal to feel freaked out at finding those items. I do think she should have played it smart though and acted like it was no big deal and calmly try to leave the apartment and get to safety. I was yelling at her when I read her reaction. :)

27. So the book ends with Joe (view spoiler) Did you see this ending coming? Were you surprised by it?

No, I wasn't surprised. I was hoping until shortly before the end that it would end differently, but in my heart I knew she was doomed. The part of her coming back around was a bit much for me.

28. Do you think Beck deserved her fate? Did you end up liking her more or less in the end once all of her secrets came out? Do you think it's far fetched Joe (view spoiler)

No, of course she didn't deserve to be killed. I can't say as I liked her any better at the end, but I did understand her a little better.
I think in time, Joe might still be caught and some of the connections will be made.

29. This books reminded me a lot of The Collector and a bit of Gone Girl, with unlikeable, unreliable and obsessed narrators and with plot twists galore. Does this book remind you of any other books?

I only read Gone Girl, and yes it was similar to it, but I liked it better. I agree with some of the others...I did not like the movie.

30. Did you like this book? Why or why not?

I gave it 4 stars for the storyline. I thought it was well-written and I liked the POV. It kept me captivated throughout the entire book and I couldn't wait to see how it ended.

31. Will you be reading the sequel Hidden Bodies? What do you think might happen to Joe in the future?

It's not something I'm just dying to read, but yes in time I'll probably read it. I don't like Joe and would be disappointed if he just keeps killing people in the next book without getting caught. I guess it depends on if the author thinks she can keep an audience writing the same thing. She'll lose me, if she does.

35559 Wow, we have lots going on this weekend as a team. Brandy, congrats for making it through another year. I taught elementary for 14 years (and then another 19 as a school counselor) and I always found the last day to be very reflective and a bit sad to see it end. Loved all my babies! Graduation is a big day! Hannah, hope the bridal shower and game night goes well. Everyone enjoy the pool. Here in VA we could go to the beach, but we live on a lake, so we're taking our family tubing today and relaxing on the water. It's been unseasonably cool here the last few weeks, so looking forward to getting out on my stand up paddleboard and having fun!

35559 Welcome to the team!
35559 Bummer. Sorry you got eliminated in AR. We had a roadblock, or we might have been out too. We don't have nearly the points that some of the other teams have. It's been fun though and I have a great team!

35559 I've got my grandkids over now. I'll be packing tonight as I'm driving to KY with some friends to visit a friend there for the week. It's about a 10 hour drive. Hoping to get some reading in when I'm not driving, but may not happen with three women in the car chatting.
