I thought it was good that he came up with an original idea, although it seemed the bird attacked both of them some.
14. Do you think Roland regrets what happened to Jake?
Hard to tell. I couldn't tell a lot of things about this story. I think he felt bad, but it was very momentary.
15. What do you think about the gunslinger’s fortune?
Some of the cards were surprising to me, some were what I expected, and a few I didn't understand the significance.
16. The man in black told Roland, “What hurt you once will hurt you twice. This is not the beginning but the beginning’s end. You’d do well to remember that…but you never do.” Do you think Roland has looked for the tower before?
Yes, it seems like there are some past events that point to the fact that Roland has looked for the tower before. Not really sure.
17. The man in black talks about different and multiple universes and a connection with the Tower. What do you think Roland will find when he reaches the Tower?
Hard to tell with the foreshadowing that has been provided thus far. I think it's going to have something to do with time travel and probably more evil things and people.
18. What did you think about the book? Will you continue on with the series?
I know I'm in the minority, but I did not like the book much. Everything else of his that I've read, I really liked, but this just didn't catch my attention at all. I felt like most of the time I was just trying to figure out what was happening and mostly it seemed about as clear as mud. I will not be continuing on with the series.

I'm back from driving our daughter to California and now in Bar Harbor Maine. Sure putting in a lot of road miles this summer! It is beautiful here! Yesterday we did some hiking and today we did ocean kayaking and also hiked some around the rocky beaches.
I'm not getting nearly as much reading done as I thought I would because the weather has been so perfect, we've been out and about a ton.
I am currently reading The Gunslinger for the BOM. I'll go to the thread soon to see when the deadline is to post a comment. Hopefully it's not too late.
Sounds like you all are reading a lot and gaining many points for our team! :)

I thought the BOM was The Gunslinger and I'm still waitlisted at my library. If you can give me the link (I can't find it) I'd be happy to participate and get us some points.
