35559 I just finished My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult , which makes book 31 read.
I really enjoyed this one, even though it was sad, but I was aware that it would be going into it because I had seen the film version many years ago (Too many to actually remember much).

35559 I was only able to speed up the audiobook for Les Mis because he seemed to speak so slow normally. On x1.5 speed he still sounded like how a normal person speaks. At x2 speed he was still understandable, but I wouldn’t go any faster than that for any book.

35559 I only managed to finish Les Mis because I listened to the second half of the book as an audiobook on x1.5 speed (x2 in the end to move it along quicker).
Now I'm just trying to get a couple of series that I only have a book or two left of finished this year.

35559 I still have about 40 books left on my list for this year, if it makes you guys feel any better (I got a bit carried away when I made the list).
I’m definitely going to have lots of leftovers for next year :p

35559 I finished The Grim Grotto today which makes 30 read this year from my TBR list!

At this rate, I might get another 5 done by the end of the year!

35559 I finished book 29, The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare .
Every year I try to read one or two Shakespeare plays and this is the first I've managed this year. I might read another, I might not.

35559 I finished it yesterday! What a relief. I won't say too much about it, only that I was pretty pleased with the ending even though it was dragged out a bit like the rest of the book.

35559 I finished book 28 yesterday which was Les Misérables!
What a long book that was. It is such a relief to have such a large book off my list.

I should have another one or two finished tonight or maybe tomorrow and another couple in the next week.

I'm on a roll!

35559 I really struggled with The Hobbit too when I read it, I was glad when I finished it.

35559 I have finished Volume 4 and am now on the 5th and final volume.

I may have watched the 2012 film so I kinda spoiled it for myself, but there was so much detail lost. That was obviously going to happen given the length of the book, but the beginning was so rushed. Volume 1 of the book was given about 5-10 mins in the film.

Anyway, I plan to solider on with my audiobook and if I am able to listen to it as frequently as I have been then I will probably finish the whole book in the next week or two.

35559 Last time I checked, I had about 200 books I added in 2012 so even if I read 10 of those book every year, I'd finish in about 20 years :p

So I'll be needing this challenge for at least that long ;)

35559 I also finished book 27 last night. Secretary which was free on Kindle and a short sexy book.

I'm definitely on a role at the moment.

35559 Yeah, that might be a good idea to avoid it. I most read it because of the title :p

35559 Oooh I enjoyed The Snow Child.

I finished 2 books today which means I have surpassed my goal!

Book 25 was 1,001 Facts that Will Scare the S#*t Out of You: The Ultimate Bathroom Reader which was alright.

Book 26 was The Amber Spyglass which I started reading as an ebook but finished as an audiobook.

I should have another book on my list finished very soon, maybe even tonight. I am well on my way to having my next goal of 30 books completed, but the next few books I plan to read are quite long so they might take longer to read.

35559 My audio copy also did not skip the slang part. Had I read it instead of listening to it, I would almost have certainly skimmed over it. I am curious to know how many time the word 'slang' was used, but you would have to pay me money to read or listen to that again to count. :P

I'm now up to Book 9 in Volume 4 so I am on track to being caught up by the end of the month.

35559 It does get interesting once you get past the nunnery bit. I will admit, I struggled a lot when I got to Volume 3 Marius because we were suddenly given new characters to learn about, but I was more interested in what Cosette and Jean Valjean were up to. But the Volume picked up and it made more sense towards the end. Thankfully Volume 4 seemed to have gotten back to the story much quicker than the other volumes, although I know I have the sewer part coming up eventually...

35559 The only thing I've read by Dickens so far is A Christmas Carol. Some of his other books are on my tbr shelf, but I don't feel in any particular hurry to read those yet.

As for the lengthy book we are going to tackle next year, I'm really not fussed. Whatever it is, it's probably been on my list for years anyway :P

For this challenge next year, I'll probably focus on finishing the series I have been working on and then maybe go by year for the others I might read.

35559 I wouldn’t mind reading Anna Karenina next year as I’ve had that on my tbr shelf almost since I joined Goodreads
