He smiled his usual quiet smile, "Thanks for saving my life."

Gabriel explains to Derey how Belenos and Naomi had been rivals back in the day, and very close friends. When Belenos betrayed them it broke something inside her and now she fears history repeating itself. He also fears that she might be discriminating because of the horrors she knows of the Black Opal. He also touches on how the Opal has been know as a sign of bad luck. He also warns her that to hold the black Opal she must have a will of iron.
They crawl up to the edge of a cliff and see a forest of thousands of spiders crawling all over. One attacks them and Gabriel takes it out. He explains to her that these spiders feed off negative energy. Lately their groups have been growing and now their job is to find out why. Derey fears that she might be dangerous to have along if they feed off negative energy. Gabriel tells her that that makes it even more important for her to face it, after all she still needs to prove herself to Naomi, right?
Elsewhere a Silver haired, blue eyed, cloaked figure awakens in a tomb and a voice says, "It has begun."
Derey feels a chill go up her spine and Gabriel agrees. They have to move out soon. They return to the cabin for the night and Gabriel promptly leaves with the flute. Derey decides not to follow. A little later she hers a flute an blanks out. When she comes to herself the fire is just coal. There is a creak and she sees Gabriel standing in the doorways clutching a badly injured arm. He tells her to run before collapsing. Derey drags Gabriel away looking for Naomi. Gabriel tells her to warn Naomi about the bloodstone. A hand grabs her shoulder from behind and Dereys attacks the person. Naomi looks annoyed. When she sees Gabriel she examines him. Naomi freaks out when she sees that it was dark magic that is killing him. Derey calms her down and promises to do her best to help him. Naomi tells her that it is a dark essence that is killing him and that the only way to help him is find someone else who uses essences. Derey bandages Gabriel. Gabriel wakes up and mutters something about Naomi needing to get to the tomb to stop the bloodstone.
-Elsewhere. The dark figure stands at the edge of the cliff where Derey and Gabriel were earlier. He is confused because "the fluter" called him Aigus. Then something pushes that thought away only leaving the thought of him needing to annihilate the "white butterfly" who defied him.
-Naomi nods her head to Gabriel and starts to leave taking Derey with her. Derey manages to drag Gabriel along with them. She asks Naomi whats happening. 631-671

"She's very cold sometimes, don't you think?" Gabriel walked out from a connecting room, his arm in a sling.

Maybe something softened inside Naomi, maybe at that moment she tried to understand Derey a bit more but all she did at that moment was nod and then silently left. Just as she exited the room she said, "I'm not going to be kind to you, know that. I'll make you the best whether you want to be or not. So enjoy your stay in the nurse room."

Her face hardened, "Derey, you once told me that to make sure to no one else died you would fight. Don't make that a lie to me, fight."

Naomi's knelt beside her, "Derey you need to snap out of this." she said quietly.

Naomi turned to her, "How are you feeling Derey?"

She turned around, "Your awake. That's good. Since you are are the only uninjured one here I will be starting the training with you. Be ready."

Someone came in but even as Derey was bandaged Naomi couldn't seem to calm. She paced around restlessly and seemed to be in a different world. Then she turned to Derey, "What in the blue blazes happened?" she said almost silently.

Naomi paled. "This. . ." she examined a long wound that Derey had gotten in her fight with the jester. "Nurse! We need some Krilic, now!"

Naomi's was there almost the second they appeared. "In here!" she yelled. A nurse came in, took in the scene and ran out. Within minutes a medical team had taken Gabriel out. Naomi looked Derey over. "Are you okay? Any injuries?"

He just grinned and said, "Just a little friendly advice from a chaos imp." Then they arrived.

He grinned, "Wish granted." Suddenly the landscape around them started to melt like bad paint. The Gnome took a nap. As things started to turn black he said, "Be careful that you want what you wish for."

He laughed, "Doing things the hard way huh, just remember. You have one more wish left."

He laid back, chewing on a piece of straw, "I can wait, but I'm not sure your friend can."

Rather-Fellow showed up, the usual smirk in place and said, "Going now?" he said sarcastically.

Naomi had brought Ethan out and now he was in a room. She waited outside to explain to him the situation. Right now she felt very cold. When she'd asked the Medical Team they'd told her that Derey and Gabriel had yet to arrive. If they didn't arrive in at hour at most Gabriel would die. Also, the Capital's best fighter, who had been sent out to scout whether certain rumors were true was missing. She'd supposed to have contacted them a little after Naomi'd gone to check the signs at the volcano. Around the time Naomi'd first met Derey to be exact.

Taylor gritted her teeth and screamed in anger, "No! No! Noooo!" Then she went crazy kicking and screaming at the stone that surrounded her. "Don't Die! Don't Die! Jo, don't die!"

He could barely move. As they ascended the stairs she noticed it. His left eye was completely black and sprouting from it was a riddle of lines tattooing his face and down the left side of his neck all the way to his arm and hand. He covered them and said in a gasping breath, "Let get going."

She was just about to pull when something struck her in the back. Her eyes went black and she collapsed half inside the stone coffin. Behind her standing quivering was Gabriel. His eyes were completely black. Then he also collapsed, smiling.
