Gabriel stopped a moment, he leaned down and turned her face towards his. "If that's true then it's all the more important for you to do this." He smiled softly, "After all, we need to prove to Naomi that she's wrong about you, right?"

Appearance: Blue-black(emphasis on blue) hair the reaches her shoulders. All braided in tiny braids with purple bead at the end. Sharp thin blue eyes and a thin smile. 4 feet 10 inches in height. Wears a collared shirt that has a v shaped opening. It's short sleeved and red with black spirals going everywhere across the shirt. Black soft cloth pants going a little farther than the knees.

He smiled, "If I need help I'll be sure to tell you. Now it's time to get to business. I showed you that because I wanted you to know just how serious a business your getting into is." he sighed, "Of other things those spiders feed off negative energy. They thrive on fear and pain. That's why they are so dangerous. That's why I am up here, to watch them." He pointed to a mountain. "They stretch all the way to there. The reason that they thrive to much here is because this is the resting place of the Myst. The monster that the last generation of stone holders had to fight." He paused, "lately more spiders have been appearing." then he smiled again. "Our job today is to make find out what's causing these disturbances. We need to make our way through all of that forest." he pointed to a spot on the mountain. "And to a cave up there."

Need to reign it in a bit, okay, try to give a specific ability that they can do.

There are 3 types of people. The humanoid monster, called Sirens because of their human like appearance,(They are very strong and depending on what they are like they may have wings or tails ect. Describe your character.) the normal human, or one of The Changed, people who developed powers because of the disaster.(As a note the animal monsters are called Gorgons)

In this story the world has gone through a major disaster that has torn the world apart. There are ruins everywhere and the sky is always overcast. Strange monsters made from this disaster roam the earth. Some humanoid. . .and some completely ravenous animal. Their worst enemies are The Changed, people who have developed powers from the disaster. The story begins 10 years after the disaster happened. No one can remember what exactly happened at that time or what life was like before it happened, all they know now is that survival is everything.

He knelt down and started to crawl to the edge of the cliff. He motioned her to follow. This is what they saw. Covering miles and miles of ground was a enormous forest and riddling this forest were hundreds and hundreds of giant spiders. They were everywhere but the worst part was they could only be seen from above. If someone were to get near them on the ground they'd never see them before it was too late. Gabriel gripped his flute tightly staring out at it. Suddenly the sky was overshadowed. Before Derey could even look up the spider launching itself at them had been cut in half. The spider fell behind them, over the cliff and into the forest. It lied there it's legs still twitching. Gabriel never made a sound. He pulled her back down the path.

"As to your other question. . .I can't say. The stones are fickle things really, and the Black Opal the most fickle of them, but I can say one thing. To handle the Black Opal you need to always be aware and have a will of iron because it will be a constant battle inside and out. That's one of the reason's Naomi is so keen to test you to the limit's or send you home because if you can't handle it it won't just mean the end of you but quite possibly it could mean the end of all of the rest of us as we know it." Gabriel stood up. He motioned for Derey to follow but put his finger to his lips signaling her to move slowly and be careful to make no sound.

Gabriel stopped looking a little startled, then he smiled, "It's not completely that Naomi doesn't trust you." He stopped a thoughtful expression on his face. "Personally knowing Naomi's history I'd say it's more that she's afraid, not of anything physical, but of what might happen. Back in the day Naomi and Belenos were friends of a sort. They would always fight but you could tell that there was no one they were closer to." Gabriel smile faded a bit. "When Belenos. . .when they found out that Belenos had betrayed all of them it shattered something in her. Before what happened she'd never been afraid." His face fell a bit further. "and I'm afraid you may be a little right. I don't think Naomi is intentionally discriminating against you but out of all of us living now she's the one who knows the most about all the stones, especially the Black Opal and for a long time the opal has symbolized bad luck. I've heard stories from people in towns where is they see an opal they'll go straight home and not leave again for the rest of the day(By the way this isn't me making things up. I actually read about this somewhere in. . . Greek stuff I think?).

Gabriel smiled, "Good question, because the others haven't gotten their stones yet and if they have Naomi must have put them through something or she probably would have sent them here too. As to the flute. . . This will be part of your test but you don't need to worry about it." he paused thoughtful. "I can also think of one other reason that she would do this but it's not very likely."

He lead her up a steep mountain path, talking all the while, "How much do you know about Naomi, Derey? Do you know that she comes from the same world as you?Do you know the reason why she's so desperate to send you home? Why she chose this particular test to
test you?"
He turned to face her, "Listen Derey
Naomi is bound to do everything
she can to send you back. Well I'm
here to make sure you get a fair
chance at proving you have a right
to stay, but you have to listen to me
very carefully. The number one key
to survival in this world is in how
much you know and your abilities
using that knowledge. You need to
ask questions. What you know can
give you endless posibilities where
before you only had one." he smiled
and looked at the flute.

He carefully picked up the flute and examined it. "That tricky woman. She steals this from me and then returns it randomly like this." He smiled and turned to Derey. "Well, it seems that it's time to begin." He motioned to Derey. "Come this way."

He scratched his neck in a resigned way. "Naomi, huh. . ." he trailed off and grimaced, "anything else? Did she give you anything?"

I've got an idea for anyone who'd like to try it. There is a world that had been totally destroyed in some disaster, no one remembers what happened but now the skys are always overcast, only a few forests have survived and there are ruins everywhere. Everywhere angel's have descended and demon's have risen. This had left the world in chaos left to those who have survived to struggle to survive and protect themselves against the monster's that now roam the earth.

He stopped, "For what? Not many people even know I'm up here."

His smile widened. "No need to call me sir. I'm Gabriel. I must admit I didn't expect to run into someone all the way up here. How'd you end up caught in Deya's web?"

Outside she stopped in her tracks. A young man stood there chopping wood. He had golden hair that curled around his face, a face that anyone had to admit looked boyish. It was soft with no creases and there was an innocent look in his eyes. He lifted his arms and chopped methodically. He started, noticing Derey. His sky blue eyes met Derey's. Then his lips curled into a smile that lit up his face. "You're awake, and from the looks of it your feeling better?"

Lightning tore across the sky, lighting up Naomi's face. "They might get out."
